*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

What version of Windows are you running? The iPhone backup file is stored in different locations depending on the OS.

Have a look in %APPDATA%\Apple Computer\ - the folder you're looking for is MobileSync.

Edit:

XP: C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
Vista/7: C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
Vista currently...

This moves now more complicated as Ive now got a MBP too now - which I want as my iTunes sync source - gah wish I could sync with multiple computers without issues...

ps3ud0

Two of the cheaper options that I've been considering if I only want to keep the phone for a year.

Option 1
Sim free iPhone 4 - £500
Vodafone £25 per month rolling contract kept for 12 months - £300
Sell handset in a year for around £300 (a 3GS 16GB has just gone on ebay for £330 so this isnt unreasonable)

Total price per month = £42

Option 2 using this price plan http://www.whatmobile.net/News/generalnews/518219/iphone_4_on_tesco_mobile_with_12_month_contracts.html
Tesco iPhone 4 - £229
Monthly price - £35
Unlock is free after the contract is up according to their website. Therefore £300 resale on ebay

Monthly cost = £29 per month

Tesco it is I think!

Questions.
1) How much extra resale value would the 32GB have over the 16GB in a years time. Would it be more than £70? as this is the difference in price on Tesco.

2) What's tesco's 3g network like? Does it use the O2 infrastructure and therefore is it expected to be the same?

It uses O2's infrastructure, but dont actually know what the coverage is like as I dont know anyone who uses them.

But I'd assume it'll roughly the same as the other networks

Just got a phone call from my local Orange store where I had my 32GB preordered at.

They got far less than their allocated stock in, only 7 16GB's and 1 32GB, so as a result they're cancelling all preorders and making it first come first served.

I had originally planned to be outside queueing around 5:30-6am, but I may make it even earlier now!

surely it should go to the first people who pre-ordered?

I ordered on the 15th, around 9:30am....says shipped today on the 23rd via TNT....sure I wouldnt recieve it, or anyone else that says the same, on the same day it has been shipped

I know it works of o2 but not sure how good it is as o2 is very good but i have only heard bad things about tesco and carnt find a coverage checker on there site

Are Tesco going to be selling them tomorrow? I haven't seen anything about when they are releasing it, along with the pay as you go units, will they be available tomorrow?! My last option :p

So the only thing going for it is the fact it looks good. Great, when you consider that its going to get shoved into a gel case, or plastic backed case or glove because people won't want it getting damaged.

I had to LOL when recently in the US, I saw hundreds up knuckle draggers with their iPhones in cases like this:

Really, defeating the whole "asthetics / lovely hardware" point.

I doubt it mate. It should be tomorrow when we get them. Received my shipping email at 2:13am and was sent via UPS, however the tracking isn't showing up on the site. This usually means it hasn't been processed through a depot yet so my guess is it'll be tomorrow.

Can anyone here confirm that Orange will supply a microsim for your current 'non-iPhone' contract, in order to use a sim free iPhone 4 from Thursday?

Just called Tesco, they can't sell pay as you go models yet, but they will have contract ones available tomorrow.

Plus they haven't been told when they can sell them, she guessing in about a week or 2.

I can confirm this.

Having said that, they are saying NOT to call until tomorrow and providing you call before 15:00, they are saying the MicroSIMS should be sent same day for a Friday delivery.
