It's finished (crash content) (now incl. new car content!)

I'm glad you got it sorted and no harm was done in the long term :)

These things happen, unfortunately, for whatever reason, so don't feel rough about it. Only takes a fraction of a second, a poor piece of road and it's all done and dusted.

Good luck with the new machine - looks ace :D

It would cost too much to rebuild and I'm not an expert so it would cost a fortune in labour too. I don't have the time to spend on chasing down rare parts either.

No, I mean to sell straight on to someone like junks, you'd make a tidy profit and never actually see the car, just passed straight onto someone who could rebuild it.

My understanding is that junks has stopped doing Lotus rebuilds as of recently. The profit made is debatable really and it could take months of advertising to actually shift it for a suitable price.

Sure he would if the price was right. I bought the VX back for £1,900...

did you hear what caused that ?

Supercharger belt snapped and proceeded to promptly wreck everythingi n the engine bay flailing about madly. He was driving around with the thing on fire not realising until the cockpit began filling with acrid buring plastic smoke.

He openned the door to get rid of the smoke so he could see where he was going. Plan was to stop the car and get out, but the brake fluid had boiled due to the heat and the foot went straight to the floor when pushing the brake pedal. Had no choice but to bail. Great story for those that argue the motroring journalists know nothing about cars and are just armchair experts given some column inches.

You have read Evo this month then.... ;)

Here she is :)
