Not lucky, they were very unlucky. Hit the bar twice, had a goal disallowed from a bad decision.

Should have won that 3 or 4-0.

Indeed. If they had gone out they would have been the unluckiest team of this WC so far given that they should have one their last game as well if it weren't for the ref.

That was a lot better but there's still a problem when you have that much possession and fail to score more than once. Lennon or Wright-Phillips would have had field day. I thought Upson had a good game and saved us at the death.

It works in so far that football is england's national game and england have played it for far far longer than USA.

Seeing as we don't have any players on the field who have played the game since its inception, it's hardly relevant is it? ;)

I thought they performed very well to be honest.

not good enough for me, not clinical, rooney looked off still, defense looked nervy again. stupid fouls, impatient passing. should have dispatched them 3-0 atleast, now we are 2nd behind the USA... all the yank papers will say tommorow is Yanks Beat England, because thats a big point here.

ill hold hope for the next game, but todays performance wasn't good enough again for me.

Well done England.

Coming second to USA though. That would be like USA coming second to england at basketball.

USA are a good footballing nation so that comparison doesn't really work.

Not even basketball, if you look at the interest, knowledge, money put into it, football in the USA comes behind basketball, American football, baseball, ice hockey, tennis and golf.

They beat us playing their seventh most popular sport. Something sickening about that.

Far from a convincing game but at least England played well. First time I've seen them look like they want to be there.

Potential England vs Germany could be thrilling.
