*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

Hmm so having the Iphone naked is no longer an option you need a case so your hand won't touch the bands causing a loss of signal.

Apples marketing reminds me of washing powder, every 8 months its new and improved, after 4 years its been improved 4 times and its now nearly as good as the competion, it must have been pretty awful in the first place.

Good luck to the people going to stores this morning!

I expect when I come into this thread later in the morning, there will be a lot of disappointment. :(

It seems that more and more people are having these signal problems with the iPhone 4.

Some to the point where it drops your service entirely if you dont have max signal before you touch the sides of the phone.

Everyone bar one person on Gizmodo who has written in has this problem so far, and an expert on Antennas from Denmark has contacted them and said this wouldn't be surprising because the antenna is external on the phone.

Maybe this is why Apple have started making those "bumper cases" all of a sudden? One has to wonder :D

On another note, more and more people on Engadget are reporting bad screen problems, yes an open poll like that can't be taken too literally, but it doesn't look good :(

yer i had a look as i have been deciding between orange and tesco and was shocked i could check out with one with shipping for friday i dident as will get one from tesco in the a.m but still i guess orange has a strong site or everyone is in bed

Well, I went through the checkout for Orange and it lets me pick Friday for delivery or any day next week and there is no mention of stock so I assume they probably have quite a lot of them in, which is good.

Says out of stock if you click on the white one so it must be up to date.

(Not bought it yet though :p)

Are tesco selling the Iphone on the 24th? Couldn't see anything on their website to suggest as such.

Take it I need to go to a store with a mobile shop if I want to pick one of these up? :D

Hey guys, I'm new here. This thread has far more useful information than all the carrier sites combined!! Also, I am located in Dundee at the moment.

Can anyone confirm that Orange will be selling their stock as PAYG (in store)?

I read a comment earlier that suggested on 10 pieces across the 2 stores here, but I'm willing to try and get there early if they're selling PAYG.

Also, if anyone has any clue as to the kinda demand Apple products get in Dundee – as in, how many people will be queuing – that would be great too.

So tempted by Orange, they offer the best coverage at my house (still relatively poor) and Orange wednesdays, seems the coverage in most the areas I go to are good, had some signal issues in places not too far away though (that I often visit).

With O2 at the minute, works out well with a few mates who are PAYG with free O2 to O2 texts, this includes the Mrs (who would not be happy if I left O2).

Decisions, decisions. This is for a new 3GS by the way.

And reception issues:

And so it begins again.....

So much for the new antenna system. :(

So basically it seems you have to not touch the metal to stop the reception dropping. That just seems utterly retarded, all this hype over the new antenna system which apparently seems to make it far easier to drop the signal reception.
