Note - All Bundles are built and installed on demand and usually ship within 48 hours of the order being placed. Please note that adding in additional memory to the spare slots will require new BIOS settings and the maximum clock speed attainable may be significantly reduced. OcUK recommend a quality brand PSU for use with all our bundles such as the Corsair TX & HX range. Updating the BIOS on the overclocked bundle range will void the warranty on the overclock. If you update the BIOS we will no longer be able to provide support for configuring and maintaining the CPU overclock.

Only £2,999.99 inc VAT.

and a one year collect and warranty and technical support

But you already get waranty on the individual products. And support from forums / OcUK if you buy each item.

So, Superewza is right, you're charging £300 for an overclock

EDIT: Sorry, £300 for overclock and a collect service.

There is a reason for the premium over individual components, I think a lot of people need to learn this. People like myself and rjk are paid to overclock your bundles for you and for the warranty the OCUK provides.

Naturally, but considering it takes little more work to overclock this to 4GHz than say a regulat i7, why does it cost so much more for what is essentially just that?

Pretty crazy, but if I had the money, I think this would be at the top of my list with two 4gb 5970's? No? :p

With you on that. If I had the money I would bag one of these now and get som 480 tri sli in there. Oh and of course the 240 Revo

a regular bundle costs around £600

i need to do a lot of these per day to make it worth selling bundles over individual components

if someone buys this then the technician [me] will spend the entire day refining the clock.

the fact of the matter is, not everyone wants to/ knows how to overclock

if you are concerned about the product then clearly it is not for you.

also, it may be wise to do a little research. the chipset on this board is not like X58
it isnt designed for overclocking. 200bclk isnt assured on xeon5*** and most reports so far are based on server class boards. the chips are the cheapest hexcores in the xeon range. this means that they have very low multipliers.
pair this with the fact that we dont know what kind of BCLK speeds the SR2 board does consistantly yet.

you may not have seen the + at the end of the 4GHz. this means that the bundle is not a standardised clock like all the other bundles we sell.

the bundle will ship with as many profiles as i can do for it as well as a top end clock.

if the chips overclock to 4.5GHz each then i will ship the bundle at that.

4ghz is assured

anything beyond that is a bonus.

that is what you are paying the extra for.

if you want to spend £3000 on hardware or just want the best. then this is what you will get. you cant argue that buying a bundle supplied with a warrantied overclock where the chips are running at their MAX settings is a bad thing.

plus what happens if someone buys it seperatly themselves and then goes and fries the chip?
its at their cost.
if i go and push things too far and brick £2500 worth of gear then it isnt at the expense of the customer.
if someone can afford the hardware then there is no reason the £300 for the max overclock is much to ask for as reassurance

I hadnt thought about the cost to customer if you they fry the chip, whereas you'll cover it if you do it yourself.
I assume the balance of that £300 is to cover any slip ups like those you mentioned then?

Dont get me wrong, you guys do a great job and a damned good at overclocking, Im just trying to understand where the extra cost comes from :)

I know if i was spending that sorta money, on that kit, £300 for Rjkoneill's time and expertise is nothing really.

Now i really must stop looking at this, would be an absolute monster folding rig, and thats without Gfx folding, and look at all those PCI-E slots, ok must resist my bank manager would murder me haha.

Do you not think anybody who would even think about spending this much on just a few components would be competent enough to overclock it themselves? Maybe even more so than yourselves. I can understand it with the lower end bundles, with a small premium but this is just silly really.

You would be very surprised, the phrase "all the gear, no idea" springs to mind in certain cases.

Maybe even more so than yourselves.

But then you wouldnt buy a pre-overclocked bundle then would you?

Some people want the buy the best regardless of cost, price/performance etc, this bundle caters for them. The reason we have a range of bundles is to cater for different customer needs.

i quite like oc bundles as they have the peice of mind for end users that have no ocing skills. Ive bought a few of this site for customer builds for that reason as if anything goes wrong then i only have to send them back.

if possible could i have a detailed list of the warrenty details as i,ve got a client that is looking for just such a rig and i,m pointing him this way but i dont want to fork out that much outlay just to find out that it had to be in x case with x amount of fans of a x type and the room temps had to be with x temps

Sent me an email with your exact requirements (link in trust) and I can spec the build for you and get you a quote. We are releasing a SR-2 system tommorow if you want to check that out then.

Hi, how much to overclock my sr-2 & 2 X5670's etc just out of curiosity.

This isn't a service we usually offer as it depends on how your system is set up however because of the obscurity of this mobo/CPU/RAM config I am sure we can offer this.

Email me with what you want exactly (link in trust) and I can get you a quote.

I have not built it yet I have all the components new sealed, just thinking what case to go for..

Ah I see, the Lian Li PC-P80B Armorsuit is the one to go for unless you want a Mountain Mods case which will be considerably more expensive and you will have to import from the US. The only option is to get the official EVGA SR-2 case (which looks rather appaling) or an open test bed.

You have to remember whilst there are 2 overclocked 6 core processors they run considerably cooler with a 95W TDP compared to a 130W TDP of a standard i7 930.

I have heard the PC-80 Lian li case still requires a mod on the motherboard tray for the sr-2, I think it requires 4-5 more stand offs on the tray. I think some people are considering using plastic stick on stand offs and others are doing their own drilling diy to do a proper more stable job, this is what i heard but not 100%..
