*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

We are demonstrating FaceTime live at work tonight (Sky News) and they are talking about the problems with reception...can't help but think something will go wrong lol. It's on the technology unplugged show at 730 if anyone wants to watch it!

No stock left in the whole of Northern Ireland

I want one, but live several miles from the nearest store. Please hurry up and allow on-line ordering with O2 :(

Pictures 1, 2 and 3 are fantastic, lovely looking dogs too...

Lovely dogs btw :)

Well good ole ups have been and gone and missed the delivery, at 3pm, and of course, being service they are, i cannot pick it up from their depo, until Monday. Dispite the depo only being down the road.

Well eternal_fantasy, I'm not really a 'hater'. Considering I still want to buy one of these phones myself?

I just think the reception issues are not a 'blown out of proportion' thing as many people are stating. It is simply not good enough.

Its good you are still happy with using your bumper and so forth, but that doesn't change anything unfortunately. Many people do not want to use one/will refuse to use one due to the situation.

Clearly I'm a drama queen, I wish I had £500/600 to throw around without pause for thought like you do.

Oh, just to add, I am impressed with the camera from those pictures above, lovely dog too.

I agree that the reception issue is pretty bad, and with all the press surrounding this situation, would be buyers have a chance to decide for themselves if they want to take the chance purchasing one. Whether it is blown out of proportion is a personal opinion as many have attested that the reception drop was minor even when directly trying to invoke it, and have yet to see any UK users complaining about call drops from actual usage. (AT&T in the US have **** coverage anyway and has had reports of less call drops compared to previous generations of iPhone.) Much of this is from youtube/media, and I'd make a post a video on the tube if I could drop a call touching a specific spot on the phone (which unfortunately I have failed to do :( ).

My post is also trying to help and even maybe persuade iPhone users that have already purchased an iPhone 4 to stop worrying about what "might" happen if you happen to hold the phone "wrong", with minimal investment and without fuss and frustration of looking for refunds and/or venting on forums, to start enjoy this great piece of hardware.

The drama queen was a joke by the way, thought the smilie would have made it obvious. :)

He's got purple legs!

Good hips though, our dog can lie like that, means they've got good healthy hips. In fact she lies exactly like that, limp wrists and everything. :D

Haha yeah, he's lost a lot of hair on his legs, can't get it to grow back!

Edit - and to keep this thread on topic, has 3.0 always had the voice control feature? Or was it 3gs only, never used it on my 3g and didn't know it existed until I accidentally activated it yesterday!

Guys, our O2 Microsim hasn't activated yet. I know the website states 24hrs but it's been 22 now

The old phone is switched off and I've rebooted the iPhone. Just removed and reinserted the sim but still nothing.

Any ideas?

I had the same issue, i called o2 and after getting of the phone with them the number was switched in seconds.:)
