Just-eat!

Have used this a few times, just makes it very quick and simple as the place we normally order from doesn't have the most fluent English speaking guy on the other end of the phone. Plus it makes it more convenient to pay by card, which tracks on Quidco also.

I use it quite often! The days I decide to get a takeaway are the days I usually have no cash on me.

It is nice to pay by card and forget about it. Knock on door, thank you very much, nom nom nom.

This!

I also nominated my local Indians and they are listed now, the owner told me they called him and offered the service :D

your all fat and lazy :p

Why?

There is nothing wrong with an occasional takeaway now and then as long as you don't have them all the time ... at a stretch I might average one a month but I can't even remember the last time I ordered one. The takeaways I use via the web are the same I'd use if I called them directly hence I am very happy with the quality.

And why lazy? ... it's no lazier than phoning up for a takeaway (and takes some of the possible communication issues out of the loop). If I were to physically go to the takeaway then it would be cold by the time I got home again (30-45mins walk) ... and with my eyesight you really don't want me to drive.

Oh and it's "you're" not "your"

Bet there will be loads for here in Manchester cause of the curry mile.
1) there's not actually many takeaways in rusholme compared to other places, more restaurants
2) it only gives you places within the first bit of your postcode by default (although you can mess with it to get stuff from outside)

I've often wondered how just-eat.co.uk communicate with the takeaway - do they text, email, fax, telephone the order through?
It's by computer/online, I get the impression that they might provide the kit for the takeaways. one of our locals has very recently got it and when I've been in there they input phone orders onto the same system, so I'd imagine it doubles for the restaurant as an order tracking thing.

Have been using it for years, was so glad when there was a takeaway you could pay for by card other than dominos

I think your joking detector might be broken :p

Am I missing something? It says it's faster, how is it faster than picking up the phone and calling the place round the corner?

It works via a little box that connects via a mobile network so doesn't tie up their phone line.

how does it work, they phone the restaurant for you? good idea if your too drunk to phone and spend forever repeating your idea to foreigners.

it gets sent to a pc at the takeaway, means there's no room for confusion, but less choice for customisation, there is a comment box but it's frequently ignored in my experience
