Boot time's 74gb raptor vs WD black ?

Hi there ive heard the WD black series HDD's are as fast at booting not if faster than the old raptors iam looking at swaping my 74gb 8mb cache raptor to a 640gb or 1tb black series would this speed up my rig or slow it down when operating and booting ?

Raptor will have advantage only in seek times.
The WD black will be able to put through more data than the raptor, due to larger platters.

you will notice faster seek times more than faster max throughput since most system reads and writes to the hd arent very big, they are small and scattered

so if i swaped my raptor for a black drive it will be sower at booting and make windows less responsive ?

You'd be unlikely to notice really, you would notice the quietness.

The 640GB black is slower than the SATA3 500GB/1TB ones.
