Apparently their support supervisors have also been told to stop giving out free bumpers because of this according to macrumours. How true that is i'm not sure.

Spoke to another woman but then I was put on hold to speak to a supervisor but they never answered. No more free bumpers I think :(
 
That 'profit' has to cover an awful lot of costs, from the research and development of the product all the way through to the marketing of it as well as paying for every building (and it's associated costs (heat, electricity, water, rent etc etc) and supplier and staff member costs. Really, the list of costs just goes on and on and it annihilates profits very quickly.

what the hell do apple RnD...really? and their marketing appart from the same advert redone for a differnt iThing calling it ''Magical Revolutionary etc'' is where exactly?
 
Just had an e-mail from Vodafone saying that they've 'got me an iPhone 4' and it'll be with me by 1800 on Friday.

Not bad considering I placed my upgrade order at 0755 on Thursday morning.:rolleyes:
 
Hmmm, not impressed that they are giving them away, yet I paid £25 on launch day :(

If this is going to be the case then I am going to write a complaint to Apple and see what they say.

Having said that i then said this lol:

Just got off the phone to an Apple Senior Advisor in the states after a carefully constructed lie (sorta). Managed to get them to ship me a Free Bumper, whoop :)

I don't know whether it was a general support advisor or a senior advisor you spoke to, but you NEED to get through to a senior advisor to have any chance of getting one. The normal support advisors can't do anything and give ridiculous advise like tape your phone or hold your phone different.

I called last Friday and spoke to a normal advisor, but no dice. I gave them a try again today when i got back from work saying a mate of mine called a day later than me and managed to get a free bumper to resolve the issue so why couldn't I when I phoned before him? Why are you being so selective with your customers and who you give them to? Why did you say there was nothing you could do when i called Friday and a day later my friend get sorted out with a free bumper?? etc, etc.

An argument as watertight as a mermaids brazier i thought and I basically left them with nothing else to say apart from we'll match what your friend had and send you a bumper.

It worked anyway.

I'm wondering what my chances are going to be like for being able to place an order over the phone with orange for one tomorrow morning. I don't mind waiting for the delivery. Just want to know they've put one by.

They'll certainly put one by for you, but you have to pay the upfront fee there and then over the phone :)

If the situation is still the same as yesterday the latest you should get it is mid next week, which isn't bad at all to be fair.
 
This has probably been answered in this thread but there is a lot of reading in it! What can I do with my HD videos that I record on it. I've published to MobileMe and YouTube but neither of them seemed to be in 720p :confused: Am I being stupid?

I placed a web order on the 24th and got a confirmation email saying it would be delivered on the 25th.

It never arrived, called customer services and basically they took too many web orders for what stock they had.
a lot of people didnt get their phone.

When the next batch of stock is due in they said our orders are priority and will be dispatched straight away.
Spoke to customer services today for an update, 1 person said they have had 500 in stock today, and another said they hadnt and they didnt know when the next re-stock would be.

No, I ordered a 32GB via phone yesterday afternoon.

I tried ordering initially on Friday, but the woman wasn't able to take the order as they had been told not to take any more pre orders for that day until more stock had been confirmed.

When I placed the order yesterday the chap said they were getting a large amount of 16GB's in today, and then more of both models later in the week, and that the latest I should expect the phone is early next week.

Seems promising :)
 
Just had my first Facetime call and it's awesome; so simple and easy to use.
Life will never be the same again !!
