Audi A4 TDI 140 with/out remap

LOLZ ITZ A CHALLINGE INNITZ

Tom if your tongue was any deeper I bet you could taste the evening meal.

The problem people have is that they are obsessed with 0-60 0-100 and the car itself.

I'll give you an example; R32 v 2.0 Diesel A3 remapped both travelling at 20-30 then reaching higher speeds; the assumption is the R32 will win however the gap will be very tight and the R32 will widen the gap at 100+ speeds. Now do the same from a stand still and the R32 will win with ease.
In reality it is entirely probable that you will come against a duel like this and unlikely you will constantly be reaching 100 110 120 etc.

OP; for the A4 you would have to test drive a standard and remapped one just to find out. Some people find it useless others are wow'd for years.

That Mondeo like paradigm said; it could keep up at 40-70, however even with the exhaust and induction kit I can't see it beating an ST - the video shows you set off a tad late.

That youtube video was a joke, the Focus driver choked big time! You see him kangaroo the launch like a newbie school girl!

30-60 (Rolling start) The Mondeo might have a chance as the torque will carry it, but never from a good stop-start. It just wouldn't rev hard enough. Don't care what you do to it, weasels will just run out of puff. Having said that, I was at a rolling road day, and a few of the ST Focus's Mk2 and 3's were a good 15 - 25 bhp (at the wheels) under par, so perhaps he has a dog?

FYI the transmission loss on a Mondeo is higher than the Focus. I've seen it for myself on many models.

My 2p!

330d any day

Running cost wont be much different to an A4, although insurance and fuel might be a bit higher. But at least you'll get proper performance

so not only did the diesel torque monster win, he was also travelling at fewer pence per mile, he therefore has the grandest e-peni so he wins everything

Let me guess, you have a Foci and felt your willy reducing at the point someone said it was not all that?

A Revo/SC remap should see it easily into 177bhp territory, maybe even high 180s.

From stand still you don't get much, but in motion it accelerates faster and smoother than pre-map. The 140 in standard form is quite depressing, with a good remap it feels how it should be when made.

The only car I would say has nice performance is the 3.0 diesel, the engine is super quiet, good performance and fuel economy. Only downside is you barely hear a sound when you put your foot down.
