rooted and apps removed

scrapped the guides for root on xda because imo theyre rubbish. some of them stil going on about device ID and other un necessary crap

all it takes is a few clicks so god knows why the people writing 'proper' guides are still making things so complicated

Did that guide I wrote help ? :D

well it's in for repair, lets hope they don't try to sting me by saying the not charging issue is a none warranty jobbie.

did you send it straight to SE ? or to your provider ?

i got mine sorted by SE within 7 days from posting to recieving. nice new handset

lots of people on XDA who sent them via vodafone/o2 are waiting ages for them to come back with lies. i helped some guy get a months line rental refunded because they took 3 weeks ! kept telling him SE where fixing it when they blatantly wherent. this was proven when guy in the shop eventually just handed him a new handset

just in case no one noticed.

i bought my hand set sim free from CPW and ive been having trouble trying to get the update via SEUS, it not relised yet as far as i know?

but ive just hit the update now on the phone itself under settings and it is now downlaoding R2BA020 :)

Excellent stuff. :D

Its a huge improvement over R1BA014 / R1BA016

Was hoping someone could offer me a bit of advice

I have an X10 that I received from O2 (so branded) and last night I de-branded to it R1BA016 generic, then updated it to R2BA020.
All went smoothly however now I can no longer get anything more than a GPRS data connection. I've gone over the APN settings several times and everything seems to match the O2 settings on their help pages but still no 3G connection.

Anyone got any clue what I'm missing :(

Thanx
Dave.

T-mobile were pretty useless when I sent mine back for repair. They offered me £5 off my bill (which is only £10 per month...somehow I've only paid £3.71 for the past 2 months :) ). I ended up writing a number of complaint emails with copies of the paperwork attached (the paperwork was wrong and contradicted iteself so that might have helped). I eventually got success with emailing the T-mobile customer complaints investigation department, the nice woman on the phone posted me a new phone within 5mins.

oh cripes heh. I thought it would be easier to send through o2. I'll have to be prepared. What lies though?

he was just getting told rubbish that didnt make sense when he asked where his phone was and it was away from him for 3 weeks. for example the providers where pinning everything on SE when it was actually with their own technicians .then he kept getting told theres delays because theyre waiting for parts even though a few days before they had said it was fixed , then in the end he got a new handset back anyway???

not as bad as it could be mind. theres some guy from USA whos been quoted about 2 months wait for spare parts because they wont replace it since its not officially available there

Interesting......

New FW in HK

I actually had a go on one of these today in the mobile shop for 10 minutes or so.

I dont know whether it was the old firmware or what, but it felt very laggy and I didn't think the screen held up too well against the AMOLED on my Desire :(

Still, I assume that must have been the old firmware, or at least I hope it was

even on the first firmware mine was never laggy tbh and benchmarks back that up

unless you mean timescape ? which was quite bad compared to the rest back then

No, the normal home screens felt slow and the phone seemed to respond quite poorly to things.

Might have been just a naff demo model though.

you mean flash with the new update ? are you already on generic ? if so then your settings remain as they are if you do the over the air update

otherwise pc companion/syncing everything to google are your only real options i think
