This is a scam right? I should know better for asking but i actually know someone with that first name but different last name.

Got the following text msg

"Milena Konopatka wants you to know they are in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. You can call them on 07003243955"

I believe 0700 number is a premium rate number so i havent tried it. Weird thing is its quite specific to where i live, howd they manage that?

hmm I would say get loads of coins and head down to the nearest phone box, give it a ring and see........ What number sent the text to you? because you should try them both, if its a scam, oh well, but if its not well........................ :)

Who cares if they're in hospital? If it is not someone you know forget about it :/

People are allowed to have the same first names as other people too ;)

In our local hospital every bed has a television/phone.
When you check into hospital you can use the phone and give it a list of numbers to call.
Each number you give it will recieve an automated message informing them that you are in hospital and you can be reached on the following direct number.

If you go into the hospital and don't "check in" or register the phone, it's possible the last occupant's details will still be used.
So Mr. Smith get's Mr. Jones old bed.
Mr. Smith uses the "I'm in hospital" feature, and the automated system informs everyone Mr. Jones is the one in hospital.

It could be legit - calls to the direct hospital numbers are expensive.
Is the name somebody you know?

text was fae same number. I think i may just have saved myself 30p ish from not phoning back thanks ocuk!

Or is there a way to phone them but reverse the call charges?

No idea, he was really vague. Couldn't tell me anything about him (patient confidentiality you see). But he had a strange money offer for me.

Yeah some doctors charge extra outcall out-of-hours fees for their services. Just give him your dd details and it will be fine. :) Claim it back via the health insurance.
