Any recommendations for which EK block type? Seems to be a few. Clear looks nice but so does the full nickel.
it also costs 3x as much (iirc) and is less than 0.2C better along with having a higher restriction
The Kryos XT costs - £60.33
The EK Supreme HF costs - £50.56 - £63.89 ( depending on finish )

Will have a look for that. Don't mind paying that
Sent you a link, via trust.
Aslong as it performs 'among' the best then i go for blocks that look good
And this one fits the bill
My HF is the black acetal version of that. The universal version comes with two different top brackets, the one in the picture above and another bigger one with lot's of holes. I can see Intels i3/i5 replacement using the same spacing for the mounts as it's only a pin less than the current 1156. i7's replacement though may be bigger as it's 2011 (i could be wrong) pins. EK did bring out brackets for the original supreme for the i5/i7 sockets so they would more than likley do the same for any new sockets.
I thought you might prefer the look of the kryos, really is a fantastic looking block, the supreme hf full nickel is also a nice block but if you prefer a simpler look.

Performance of the two blocks is virtualy identical so as already said, go for the block you like the look of most.

was talking about the silver one which was reviewed, others will probably perform worse than the HF
Taken from skinnee labs
"The silver versions of the XT have a .925 silver top and base"
The reviewed version clearly has a copper base so the silver version will be even better.
Gone for the following, Wife liked the Nickel
EK-Supreme HF Full Nickel Universal and EK-FC5870 - Acetal & Nickel Full Cover.
Tubing I have gone black XSPC 1/2" with Chrome compression fittings. Should look nice.
Will post some picks once I have it all installed.
Cheers for the input![]()
The XSPC Rasa is slightly better than the EK supreme HF and cheaper.
