Karaoke night, potential employer, *gulp*

It's not about the vocal performance but more to show you can have fun with your colleagues and have a laugh at your own expense.

I'm quite shy in public but after a few I always used* to get the urge to sing either Bohemian Rhapsody or Don Maclean - American Pie (don't ask why)

If you can have fun with it and get people involved and sing a long, maybe call some people up with you, that's what the night is about, fun :)

*that is until I saw a video of me  I vowed to never embarrass myself like that again even though everyone pushes me to sing whenever we go past a karaoke :(

is this something you have to attend?

Ive never heard of a company taking people out to karaoke :/

We used to have an annual xmas Karaoke at xmas at my old company (Connaught) we used to hire out a rugby club, and each department had to come up with an act to perform infront of everyone.

Our department (The IT department) used to win it every year, we used to start of with a big projection screen showing a video we made, then we would come out and perform. The videos we have done is the rocky montage video, and a star wars spoof amonst others. Then it usually involved the whole of the IT department dressed in womans corsets and nothing else! and doing some dance routine.

lol, then the proper Karaoke started with the singing,

So yeh the OP's normal singing night out doesnt sound so bad :)

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Freebird

By the end of the 7 minute guitar solo they'll have forgotten how bad you are ;)
