I gather there is already a "what watch do you own thread" but save clogging up that thread. I'm looking around the £200 mark. Firstly, what do people recon to the quality of Christopher Ward watches?- a lot of people seem to have reccommended them... Secondly what do people think of these 2 watches:

http://www.christopherward.co.uk/men/dive/c6/c6sks.html C6

http://www.christopherward.co.uk/c4ipk.html C4

I think they're both veyr nice watches, although im unsure about the black C4, unfortunately thats the only C4 left on sale, and i either pay £130 for the black, or £240 for the plain stainless steel (which i think looks slightly nicer). (however £110 for a different "colour" is a bit of a kick in the crotch)

I have a thin wrist, so would would either of those look disproportionate?/ esp the black one?... and also, how does black PVD wear?.. does it flake off, or scratch, does it age better than stainless steel?....

C6... no C4... no C6...

I'm going watch shopping later today, think I'll be going back and fourth. Thoses two are on my list of potential new watches though.

they've put re-sizing inthe options now, which was on of my main concerns. THe watch is bulky, im just wandering whether its too bluky for my wrist.. hmm..... also.. The site claims that the quality of the watches match those far above it's prices, is this true?

I've seen lots of people in the watch thread have got them and recommend them so they must be half decent. :D

I bought an Armani watch for £230 the other day and it is the business! Never look back worth every penny!

the armani watches are very nice,( is it the leather one?) .. i'm still undecided, firstly i'm not too happy ordering a watch i can't try one (although there is a good returns policy), and i'm unsure about the C4, great price, but theres so few pictures of the black c4 its really hard to make a decision. THe c6 looks great too. I'm looking at the christopher ward watches because they seem to be of very good quality- i had a accurist chronograph (around £100) as a bday present maybe 4 years ago, but last year the mechanism broke.. I was originally looking for a watch for my 18th bday, but my mum wanted me to get my accurist fixed instead, and dint want me to get an expensive watch 'cus she thought i might break it at uni. -Hence me looking at some of the cheaper sport/diving watches, rather than some of the very nice aviation/dress watches.

I've had a C4 and a C6 (and currently have their forum limited edition) - both are good quality for the money. I am sorry to say (and don't mean to upset the poster who recently bought one) that armani watches are not good quality for the money. Avoid them - low end quartz movements in massive plastic movement rings. If you want quartz the movements in CW are significantly better and they are at least well put together (and a watch brand).

Why not get a CW automatic - better again.

For robust the C6 is particularly tough. Nice clean dial too. I know in the sale they had some C600 yellow dial ones (auto and with tritium tubes) for under £200 - that's a very solid watch.
