Which watch to get?

I was just this minute looking at the traser watches :P .. will look into.. Theres a lovely CW aviator automatic, but i'm worried about how chuckable they are and the care they need.. (would be great for a 21st once uni is out the way, and i absolutely love the window on the back, but im concerned i would never wear it, due to it being so nice, and therefore would need one of those windy things)...

Interesting, not heard of these watches before. They don't look too shabby, the caibre seems pretty solid, I'd be a bit dubious of the water resistance though.
Depends what you want the watch for...as a beater they're both pretty nice. Personally I'd save some more and buy a Ball or 2nd had Bell & Ross, something like this, I know they're much more expensive but it would be worth it.

Links fixed, bracket needed moving.....ah, sorry, are you so desperate for the watch? If you could save some more I'm pretty sure you'd be far happier :)

links dont work ^^ , plus i dont really have anymore money.. i can only presume those watches you have linked to are £400+ which is out of my range i'm afraid...

While the C4 looks reasonably nice at the moment, i'm conerned its far from a classic look, and therefore, while it may last a long time, I may well not be wearing it for many years... just a thought.. its certainly a different look, i'm undecided tbh, but very tempted by the price.. - I think if it was in stainless steel at the same price i would be buying it now.

rotty-- ^^ for fear of breaking/scratching it... sicne aviator watches are simpler/more dressy, ..

don't worry about it, they are there to be worn

If I did any serious damage to any decent watch I would claim on house insurance

^^ Well with your watch collection it would certainly be wise to :P

I like the aviator, but its a watch for a different purpose really.. (yes i await for "oh it doesnt tell the time like the others?!)...

I like the mk1 more than the mk2 actually http://www.christopherward.co.uk/men/aviation/c5av/c5awt.html# .. and before i started seriously looking at watches i did really like everything about old-style pilots watches... hmm decisions decisions...

nobody needs a watch winder - they are daft. if you have autos you don't use all the time you are much better letting them run down and then wind when you use them.

watches can be refinished too so should be worn, get them refinished when you service and they will look brand new

what does winding them entail? - save me googling :P

Also - to clearly update, im now looking at: Black PVD C4, Black face C6, and the Leather Mk1/2 C5.. ahh i hate decisions

turn the winder a few turns and / or a gentle shake

(40 turns is a full wind for a 2824-2 from nothing but wearing it for a day will leave it fully wound)

The C5 is a great watch for the money. Solid movement, nice classic looks and good construction. In my view significantly more watch for the money than the C4 or C6. A 2824 costs me about £80 for the movement alone. The quartz movements are decent quartz but cost a tiny fraction of that.

ahh ok thanks very much.. ( i presume the winder is the screw-type thingy on the back..).. Are moving parts visible through the back of the watch?- it had a window, but im unsure to whether any moving pieces are visible- that would be really nice...

Also regarding damaging watches, i guess i am being overly protective, i'm just used to going to school for 7 years where things were likely to get broken/worn out. .. Also about the sale- how often do sales come up, and once all the products on show in the sale section sell out, will that be the sale done?..

the crown, that you change time with. It winds from position one, date position 2, time position 3

the display window will indeed allow you to see the balance wheel spinning, cogs moving when you adjust time and rotor spinning as you move the watch.

sales seem to be every 6 months or so and certainly the last one was over once everything showing as out of stock

thanks very much for all the help and info.. I'm notoriously difficult with decisions, even relitavely simple ones, let alone choosing a watch from such a nice selection.

I'm also looking, temptingly(if thats a word) at the C7 rapide silver bracelt, although thats pushing my budget... or even the C7 leather on sale ....

EDIT- Second update- I think i'ma give the C4 a miss. So i'm looking at the C6, C7( http://www.christopherward.co.uk/watches-sale/mens-half-price/c7swt.html or http://www.christopherward.co.uk/watches-sale/mens-half-price/c7sst2.html ) , or the C5 malvern mk1/2 ....

I can actually get the sale item, and the metal strap for cheaper than the non-sale- metal one. Aka 2 straps for the price of one. I think i like the cream/silver one more than the black/white one.

I have a C6 with a blue face, its a very nice watch, only thing I can fault it for is that it is a tad heavy, so when I'm working on the systems at work I take it off.

They come in a fantastic box as well !
