Should be top 5 PC games, you can't include consoles/handhelds in the list tbh

tbh, why not? There is no PC & Console section here at OcUK.

I'm sorry the topic is clearly about GAMES, that is simply microsoft access in space

Haha ;)

1. Final Fantasy 7

In no particular order

Resident Evil 2
Oblivion + Add Ons
Knights of the Old Republic (The first one as the second one was pants)
AvP 2 Multiplayer
Mafia

I loved playing those games.

Best PC Games in my book:

1 - Baldurs Gate Saga. - The perfect game. I don't think it will ever be surpassed. I hope the modding community never dies, I'll probably be playing this forever.

2 - Deus Ex - Simply excellent. Deep, involving, immersive and cool.

3 - Planescape: Torment - The best storytelling and dialogue in any game ever. even surpasses Black Isles other rpg supreme Fallout 2 for an excellent dark narrative. I can't believe such a wonderful company has turned to dust recently (Obsidian).

4 - Civilisation 4. - Simple at first glance, but actually very deep and amazingly addictive. Add mods like Rise Of Mankind and Fall From Heaven 2, and its difficult to see how Civ 5 could best it.

5 - Mount And Blade/Warband - Hard choice this one, but a more recent title. Never has melee combat been more fun and responsive. The love in this game shines through and it is incredibly addictive!

1. World of Warcraft
2. Battlefield 2
3. Counterstrike Source
4. Team Fortress 2
5. Call of Duty 4

All PC.

@ran_out: I heard that Bully for the PC was a buggy mess. Has that changed now with this SE? Never heard of a Bully SE, by the way. Did it really correct most of the faults?

I'm still of the opinion that game design peaked in the year 2000. :p

Baldur's Gate 2
Frontier: Elite 2
UFO: Enemy Unknown
X-Wing/Tie Fighter
War in Middle Earth (Amstrad CPC) - This became a bit of an obsession, many, many years ago. It needed a patch though..:D

1. MoHAA
2. Ultima Online 1999-2001
3. Pro Evolution Soccer
4. Soldiers: Heroes of WW2
5. Stalker SOC

1) UFO: Enemy Unknown
2) Starcraft
3) Deus Ex
4) Dragon Age Origins
5) Hitman: Blood Money

I have a holy triumvurate which may never be beaten, and two more recent games that crow-barred their way in to my heart. :)

Battlefield 2
World of Warcraft
Company of heroes
Grand Theft Auto 4
Mass effect 1/2

Still loads more classics to pick from, could name a top 20 easy.

Microprose F1GP 2 (PC)
Gran Tourismo (PS)
Mario Kart (SNES)
Tomb Raider (PS and PC)
Quake (PC)

Based on how long I played them for.... I wouldn't sell my Playstation due to playing GT 1 with a Dual Shock..!!

I ended up getting Tomb Raider for my PC due to getting a 3Dfx card and played the game on two systems, it was that good.

Microprose F1 2 never got un-installed for years, best game I ever played.

Edit - TBH, its too hard to actually select just five. Monkey Island should be in there, as well as Magic Carpet or Populous... Classic gaming moments..

Recently Batman Arkham or Mass Effect 1.

2) C&C Renegade

People might not consider 2,3,4 great games. But they were very balanced online and amazing fun. Even if they lacked realism and graphics. They made it up with sheer gameplay and enjoyability. Smething I feel is lost these days for graphics, physics and realism.
I've played Renegade a lot and it's quite far from balanced.

NOD has a significant advantage over GDI with its stealth troopers and superior artillery units. Especially when (as is common in public and ren is not big enough for serious clan activity) you don't get organised teams.

But still the single player is great fun and so is the multiplayer as long as you don't mind that all the main servers these days are in america.

1. Deus Ex.
2. Stalker : Shadows of Chernobyl.
3. Fear.
4. Stalker : Clear Sky.
5. Counter Strike Source.

With so many games that come close to being above a decent standard of something like 7 / 10, it'd really hard to sum it up with just five games. :)

There just isn't the room for Far Cry, System Shock 2, The Witcher...the list goes on.

Far from it, nod had faster units, but less life, where GDI where beasts but slow. They both required slightly different strategy and how to use teh units. The game play was very balanced and corporation could be found as long as you joined one of the top servers. The lower down servers where horrible where you had a bunch of idiots and no team speak. Long gone are the days of renstation.net :(
