Your climate control preferences

nob turned to cold
AC - on
fans - 2

Same for my Scania, I turn it onto recirculate when the cab is roasting after its been parked in the sun for an hour or so other than that, I rarely touch it.

Cars set to 22 iirc but I rarely use the A/C in that because it seems to have a mind of its own!

Worst 'I'm in Germany!' thread ever.

21.5c, both sides.

I bet you don't bother changing it much with those fiddly button press e39 controls with the 1970s calculator display. :D

21 and auto, don't think its moved in about 3 years.

Except from the ex, when we fell out as I made a point of telling her how climate control worked! Yes thats right you don't turn it up when your cold then down when your hot and keep doing this all the time. ITS NOT HOW IT WORKS!!!!!!!!

I still have this problem with my other half despite telling her how it works. "Do you get up and change the central heating thermostat from full to nothing? It works the same way.". In one ear and out of the other.

in my truck its just both windows down full :p we aint got fancy aircon.

Isnt that rather warm? thats what I set my house thermostat to in mid-winter!

So why not set it to the same in the summer then if it's a comfortable temp? Climate control is about creating a temp in the car you are comfortable with and if 21 degrees is good in the winter why would it not be the same in the summer? I suspect many of you don't do the miles I do, so get into a warm car and want to make it cold quickly in the summer. If I travel 250 miles I want it to balance the car to a temp that is right for me and that doesn't matter what it's doing outside.

Have it set on Auto - 24degrees. Any less and the fan is on full all the time as the aircon can't keep up (45ish outside). Can't open the windows at the moment at it's like having a hairdryer being blown in your face.

Helpfully i always know at a glance what the setting is, I don't need to have a look at my dial and work out which printed number on the plastic the arrow on the dial is pointing at, especially given it doesn't even show odd numbers let alone half degrees ;)

It's almost as if the best compromise is a nice rubberised twirlyknob with a screen. Somebody should tell BMW so they can fix it in the all new 5 Series. OH WAIT..

Used to drive me insane! Hot, cold, hot, cold! The best of it was when she got her Focus, I told her to press auto and the temp and it would stay at that. "Ah thats cool" And she used it then! Women.
