Replacing old £20 notes?

Ask the bank, they might do it. If they say no, you'll have to go direct to the Bank of England.

Both the banks and post office will change them for a few months. After these few months are up (I can't remember how many) then the only way would be via the Bank of England.

You know on those little bits of paper it says bank-note, right? Updating notes and coinage isn't suddently an excuse to practice deflation.

Why don't you just, you know, put it in your bank account instead of leaving it for Rob the freindly neighbourhood theif to nick?

A bank will change them for you, if you're 100% against putting money in banks, or the funds are from ill gotten gains and you daren't risk depositing it.

I'd do a search on here for the thread from last week about the old £20 notes going out of use which contained to the appropriate Bank of England web pages on how to get old notes exchanged for new ones.

if he puts it in the bank and his business gets a tax audit they will want to know where it came from...
