As title really. I replaced my old failing 500GB Seagate with 2x 1TB Samsung F3s today. I'm running them in RAID0 via the ICH10R on my GA-EP45-UD3LR, with a stripe size of 128k. Since updating the Matrix Storage Manager my readings have improved quite a lot. For example on the driver supplied by Gigabyte my HDTune burst speed was 192MB/sec; now it's 2978MB/sec which seems a bit better.
I'm just wondering why my graph seems to trail off so much in the second half of the drive(s). Others I've seen are almost level right the way across. I've also noticed momentary 'pauses' while running Windows 7 Ultimate x64. The screen/mouse/video works fine but any file transfers suddenly hit 0kbps, local disc activity (copying, recycling) freeze temporarily, then two seconds later it seems to catch up again.
Any ideas? I haven't really noticed it since the update to the latest version (v9.x) of the Storage Manager so maybe it's cured? I'll have to wait and see I suppose. Meanwhile, does this look OK?
