*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

Still got 3 weeks or so before mine comes from apple 32gb...still havent heard from the apple st on regent st although they said they put me on a priority list but i dont hold much hope of getting one before the one i ordered from apple direct.

Still nothing from tmobile about their iphone4 tariffs...not very good of them to keep quiet about it...got another 2 weeks before my upgrade is up.

Looks like I have the yellow screen problem though, so I'll have to get it swapped :( :p

Very nice though, but what a farce with all these problems they have.

I'll give it a day or two and see if it improves anyway.

Do you need to have gotten it from Apple directly to get it exchanged by them or do they cover all the phones given out by Orange/Vodafone and co?

Say for example I had an iphone 4 bought from orange (and therefore locked to orange), if I then got that replaced by apple, would the replacement also be locked to orange?

It would.

I think they register them in store whilst you're sitting there. I believe it downloads the carrier info and then locks it, though I may be wrong. :o

i dont know if they would change one in store from a reseller as apple sell to orange and orange sell to you

its the same as me buying one from apple and selling it to you.

so i would think you need to take it back to orange

or send it to apple under warranty i dont know if the store would help you.

i am not sure on this but i think apple stores and resellers work differently

Well, I've spoken to Orange to activate the SIM Card and they said if there are any issues with the phone they can send out a replacement no problem.

Its not too much of an issue as I can still continue to use this one and its not the end of the world but it does bug me so I wouldn't want to keep one in this state :p

I'm waiting for a text now that confirms the SIM is activated (cant call anyone yet), anyone know how long it takes roughly? The guy said 2-24 hours.

Unfortunately it literally can take between 2 and 24 hours. I think mine (on o2) took about 8 hours to transfer over, after the initial 24 hours when they'd given me the wrong sim.

Mine was an upgrade, by time I got home from town my old sim was showing no service so had to get the 4 activated with itunes then my new sim was working.
