TPFT is never much cheaper.
That price possibly *was* TPFT. My car at 17 was a 1.1 106 that cost me £800ish, cheapest insurance was £1400 TPFT after a fair amount of shopping around.

Reminds me of how I felt when i went to get the 3.5k out that i needed to buy my most recent car. I was waiting behind a woman at the bank and when she got to the counter she said " I want to withdraw 3.5k please as I am buying my daughter a car".

its comprehensive through Liverpool Victoria 1st car insurance is always pricey your unknown to the insurer you could be some gimp obliterates an entire family on your 1st journey out unsupervised
TPTF wasnt that much cheaper to be honest and in some places i was getting cheaper quotes for comp than TPFT.
whilst messing around with quotes i changed my licence held date to 1 year and the qoutes were coming out at 3 / 400 pound for the same car

I did own a Corsa in my list of cars, so I cant talk aslong as it a newish one they are fine. I had abit of a banger

Actually I tell a lie, my dad paid for my first car so it was effectively free, however he bought it when I was 15 and it never made it to the tarmac in legal form, I had wrecked it by then

My friend in college used to do this, he lived on a farm with loads of land, they used to buy £100 cars and race them around some fields until they were wrecked.
First cars, generally cheap, slow, bad handling, and rattle, lots. But you'll love them!
