MX-5 Geo and Lowering

I'm sure that the Mustang owner took his Saleen into CoG and Chris transformed it by adjusting the suspension set up and also changed the tyre pressures too as stock was too hard/soft.

I'm sure the MX-5 will be in good hands and will come out sorted. :)

I did go for a test drive in a MK3 and found it more soft into the corners than my stock MK2

I've actually driven all MKs of MX5 over the years, sadly not all at the same time but I feel the current car needs a tweak and from what I have read the issues I am getting none of which are huge it must be said, are common with a factory delivered car. I feel the car is simply lacking some precision and I want that dialled out as best as we can and also it lowered so it looks a little better aesthetically. I have played myself into the body roll you get, get past that and you realise it does grip well, just moves on its suspension lots more than many modern cards which are stiff as a stiff thing.

I took 12psi out of each tyre, they came with 41 they are now 29...

That's rather hard...the e36 has 40+ PSI in the tyres but is a heavy lump, the MX-5 is lighter.

Chris will take the car out on twisties and roundabouts and set up for fast road etc. (depending on what you ask for really) from what I understand and will keep adjusting until he is perfectly happy that it's as good as it's going to be able to be.

Sounds like your expectations could be met by someone who understands and knows how to setup the car, I'm not sure how much care is taken during factory setup but i bet its very rushed process when the car quickly sits on the rolling road at the end of production.

I'm not sure how well braced the Mk3 is from the factory but it could well be worth looking into prior to any Geo setup is done, a lower front brace made a night and day difference to turn-in on my Mk2.

Any chance of a meeting and a go, as a passenger, in the Peugeot - SORRY, I mean the Cayenne, one day perhaps? :)

Any time you like, you can have a go of it, i work from home most days only go up town twice a week.
