While not quite anime

I watch the animated 2009 film Wonder Woman. To be frank it was bloody brilliant. I loved it and it even had some fan service :D

There was even quite a brutal fight scene mid-way through that was really well done

If they simply took this story and did a live action film then it would work. But the sticking point is that i cannot think of a single woman that would fit the role today, Maybe catherine zeta jones 10 years ago but that would only be for her looks, voice and attitiude would be all wrong.

Block watched Toradora! and finished that today.
Gotta admit I liked it, penultimate episode felt a bit rushed, but the final episode easily made up for it, especially the adorable kiss scene and the epilogue which gave real closure to the series, and a happy one at that.

Was quite a nicely done series and it was nice to see earlier bits revisited or having significance later on, although the ending was foreshadowed even as early as 2/3 episodes in.
Shame in a way there's not much room for a season 2/OVAs as this covered the novels and closed the ending nicely.

Only thing I wasnt keen on was how exaggerated the time skip was, 4-6x the original novel by the sounds of it, bet that would have hurt! (Japanese apparently like these sorts of things for drama though and it was definately resolved in a really sweet moment)

Should get the first half of Toradora today. There is supposed to be video issues with the disks though. NISA have got a free replacement program in place though and have said that they will ship replacement disks to international customers.

Hopefully yours will be fine, its a nice series and it would be a shame to spoil that. (Or make you wait ages for new discs)
See if you spot the foreshadowing point only an episode or two in, which ironically occurs when you would perhaps least expect it. :D

Oh it will be affected, the issue is something in the encoding and leads to ghosting/interlacing issues. How noticeable this is depends on your setup.

I'll put in for the new disks anyway and try the existing ones on my kit when I get them.

Thats a bit of a balls up then, I hope they fix that for a future release or correct it so no more dodgy discs are going out!
Still hopefully you'll be able to enjoy it anyway.

By the looks of it I would say that they are not going to put out a retail version with fixed disks. It's a premium release (and other than the disk issues it is very nice) and is apparently a limited edition which will not be reprinted.

The tone of the replacement page is that if you want the premium edition of the series then you need to buy the set and swap the disks and there has been no indication that there will be a non-premium release later on.

You have to provide them with the UPC codes and whether you bought the product from (it was fairly limited in it's outlets so I assume they'll do some sort of cross checking to make sure that people don't put in for copies they are not entitled too. They haven't indicated yet that you need to send the disks back.

I haven't tried playing the disks yet but put in for replacements anyway just in case.

Scratch ToraDora off my to buy list then :(
Pity as it is one of my favourite animé series
Trying to finish off a few that I have started atm.Heroic age and Princess lover

If they're fixing it (for free) then it may still be worth getting .... also I would have thought they will put out a non-premium release at some point even if they haven't said they will yet.

Princess Lover ... I think I watched all of it ,,, but I can't remember if I finished it or not. Did quite like it.

Heroic Age ... have considered it a few times ... I plan to pick it up on BR at some point.

No issues with my copy of Maria-sama S4 .... other than I've already watched most of it twice since getting it from TRSI last week (Touko, episode 11, has to be one of my favourite character episodes of any series). Had no issues with the specials sub tracks conflicting with the main honorific sub track which has occurred at times previously.

Tried watching Toradora earlier ... and I stress tried. Haven't fiddled with the settings but it is fairly plain to see that there is some sort of issue. Ghosting was very noticeable in some character movements to the extent that it was annoyingly bad.

Ended up rewatching the first half of Myself Yourself instead as I couldn't decide what to watch instead.

Made a decision regarding how I shelve some of my collection so I need to shuffle around some bookcases and relocate some bits and pieces ... (manga in particular has outgrown it's shelves by a significant amount) ... but that'll have to wait a bit as my Parents are visiting for a long weekend at the end of this week.

Man that sucks, how on earth could you miss that during testing/authoring.

Heroic Age is a nice little series in my view, worth watching to the end :)

Princess Lover, watched it all, it was japanese female 'art' at it's finest although the plot was rather poor - somehow got through it though lol

I thought Heroic Age had allot of potential tbh, with some really nice story elements that weren't quite fully realised tbh. I think my main gripe was that it had all these themes of discovery and exploration but receded into big battle per episode syndrome far to often. I'd probably pick it up on Blu Ray though if i get the chance in the future, the series had a nice presentation. Definitely a nice little series overall.

Working my way through School Rumble atm, ah funny funny funny. Harima is the star of that show imo, some of his 'moments' are just classic comedy. I'm really liking the dub as well.

I wasn't as amazed with School Rumble but you're right it does have some funny bits, I wasn't so keen on the dub either, Tenma's voice just didnt gel with me, the Japanese voices sounded a little more ....engaged. Same issue I had with the english Haruhi dub I guess, where Haruhi just came across a bit...vapid and airheaded, without the energy/drive of the Japanese dub.
You're right though, Harima and Tenma between them do run away with the show a bit sometimes, I suppose thats to be suspected though given they're the main characters.

Finished re-watching Myself; Yourself this evening. I like this series, the animation is reasonable, the OP is good, has a nice selection of characters and the plot actually comes to a reasonable end point. It is also quite dark at times and not as light and jolly as it might initially appear.

Yes it has it's issues. it could have done with being 2 cours instead of 1 and the writers would appear to have tried to hit every single character stereo type at times, (there's one character who is a childhood friend, older sister type, large oppai, glasses and is clumsy is a moe way .... oh and she can cook).

OK I need help. I've had the opening theme of a certain anime in my head now for a few weeks, I've searched all over to try and find out what anime it was from, however I can't find it.

I must have watched it about 2 years ago (maybe less) and I always loved the opening tune. For some time I thought it was from Lucky Star, but its not. I think its a very similar anime

In my desperation I have tried to play it on my guitar. I'm sorry for the quality as I simply plugged it into my mic jack :p Also I'm trying to play from memory so sorry for the crappy playing (especially near the end.)

Anyone know what its from?

If my memory is correct, it was very much like Lucky Star opening. You know, with the characters doing funny dances and strutting walks.

I remember a character swaying back and forth next to a sunflower in a pot lol. Sorry thats all I've got. Its been wrecking my head for ages.

eggyoke, it sounds slightly familiar but I'm afraid I don't know it :( (I've probably either seen a clip or trailer).

I think I may have a slight "pocky" habit, I've ended up with twenty packs sat under my computer now as I liked that Makado stuff :) (I think I've also got my brother into it, he had some and immediately wanted more:p).

I've almost finished Tsubasa now, which I've quite enjoyed, the second season is definitely a bit darker than the first with a few surprises :)
I'm going to watch the OVA tonight, then possibly start of Maria or YUA FT part 2.
