Its to do with the phones wireless controls... data connections, wifi etc

They usually arnt documented, but newer is better as ever :)

Actually i read somewhere that this one improves hsdpa, something about updating it to a newer revision/standard so it can improve your speeds if the mast your using supports it!
 
Far too much jargon and not enough info on what it actually is! I really should get around to learning APPS2SD too. I've yet to need it but would be nice for future reference to know how to do it all. EXT3/4 wtf is that about aswell lol.
 
Has anybody updated the new radio on an Orange phone? I know there were problems with other radios and having to get an unlock code. I don't want to buy an unlock code. :p
 
I am hoping that the new radio fixes my wifi problems. It keeps disconnecting after a while of the phone being asleep.

I changed the option in the advanced section but it still keeps disconnecting :(.

yep as it has just happend to me :p luckily i bought a unlock code last night off fleabay and its now working great except the bluetooth.....

Same happend on the original Orange firmware it wouldnt sync contacts with my Parrot LS3200 once i flashed it with a default firmware and then custom ones it worked great, flashed with this 2.2 with sense and its no go again :(

Im afraid you will have to, or wait for about 2 years for an orange update if there ever is one
 
I can't update my radio on a rooted and stock ROM (HTC stock, not O2 stock) O2 desire. How are you rooted and ROM'd guys doing the update?

Just copied the radio to the sd card, rebooted into recovery/fake flash, wiped, flashed radio, waited for several reboots and job done.

What happens when you try it?
 
cool my t-mobile branded (originally) desire wasnt simlocked :)

used fakeflash, didnt bother wiping anything, just ran the radio update (5.08.00.04)

just waiting for Adam to release OD 1.6 final now

Do you mean you just flashed the radio update and are currently running OD 1.5?
