*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

I rehosted the a2sd file: http://robbiekhan.co.uk/root/android/desire_froyo_a2sd-signed.zip

The thread for the modded dj droid rom is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=720917

BTW the clockwork recovery mod used by rom manager has a clockwork-recovery.zip file in the sd/clockwork folder.

Copy this zip file, rename it update.zip then put it into the sd card root. Now you can boot into recovery with no rom manager installed (which will be the case when running through the first few reboots of installing djdroid for example).

So, to enter Clockwork mod recovery version 2.0.1.4 (latest, best):

1: With the newly named update.zip on SD root, reboot phone holding VOL DOWN+POWER

wait until volume keys work to move up/down (a green block of text will appear then vanish)

2: Press POWER to select "Recovery"

wait a few seconds

3: Press VOL UP+POWER

wait a few seconds, you'll see a blue command like screen with some options

4: Use volume keys to highlight the flash update.zip option and press POWER

phone will boot into clockwork recovery where you can do everything from backing up the entire phone (inc EXT) and restoring it/everything and so on.

The whole process to get into Clockwork takes 30seconds tops and once you've done it a few times it's second nature.

Clockwork recovery has more options than other recovery images and should be used when flashing anything new.

I think it's for FroYo only as it will break stuff like camera if you flash on a non FroYo ROM with a kernel made for it.

I'm still looking for a way to patch in the media profiles xml/zip to improve camcorder quality....

Also running it now and had a quick test with the camcorder, in good light the fps is quite clearly 30fps as it was so smooth playing back and recording. Won't know the quality until I get home though so stay tuned!

I love how fast and responsive the camera UI is now, in 2.1 it would lag a bit and slow down but now it's so smooth, so fast.

The whole phone feels faster now too.

I'll restore my Titanium backups and settings when I get home and also Launcher Pro.

Hmmm set the camcorder to 720p and it's not that great. Did a quick test out the front, quite jerky and doesn't look good on the PC at all.

www.cookandroid.com is now up and running and includes about 5 of the popuar ROM's which you choose as a base and then add programs and the like to your own kinda custom ROM....

Not tried it yet, but might soon.

BTW, whats the difference between installing something to data/apps instead of system/apps ??

I get a force close every time I try to do a voice search on my phone. I've just updated to the newest djdroid ROM.

Anybody else getting this?

You need Voice Search for Android 2.2.

I'm restoring back to Sparta. I'm not liking the way it somehow corrupted my SD card while recording a video it would seem!

Cheers mate :)

Doing now fingers crossed!

It's probably the SD card got corrupted some other way but this is the only thing I've done so far.

Plus I missed the cleanliness of Sparta :p

I'm perfectly happy with the 480p of current so can hang ten until a compatible Sparta build is out.

I think one of them might be releasing light version of it so i guess no htc stuff, i just use launcherpro on it and its as fast as sparta for me.
