Any m3 2008-2010 owners? Or anyone that can offer some further advice on another car?

Errrr have to say if you neither need or will appreciate the go fast gizmo's of the M3 AND you need - for whatever reason - to reduce the monthly outlay why not just get a big engined standard BMW??

Aye well I quite liked the look of the 335i kitted out but this is slower off the mark 0-60 even than the Scirocco R, so needs to have a decent 0-60 range and better mid-range power.

I really like the new BMW i-drive system as well they have upgraded it with the newer models.

Very true, he has not actually asked a question, he seems to be merely telling us about his girlfriends fathers car.

I have actually asked several questions - and also in the title - read the whole thread :). Several others users have included decent information as well.

So who pays the running costs then?

If the car is to be leased then why does it matter?

Also, personally, rich other-half or not, I'd leave father and daughter to figure out what they want to do in terms of car and finances rather then wedging my nose in, why cause if things go wrong they might see you as the blame sac.

I've not got direct experience of owning either car but a friend I used to work for had an M3, then a GTR. He now has a 335d M sport and an R500 Superlight. The M3 he took on a track day once and wrecked a set of tyres and brakes, it cost him about a grand to put right so he sold it not long after. The GTR he had a few minor offs in, having any fun in it involved going stupendously fast and tended to end in trouble.

He currently has got us two cars to share a Scirocco R 2010 model and a 911 Carrera 4s 2009 model.

Thought about this, but we kind of need a car that is great for our day to day as well. Something big enough to say go do the weekly shop etc. The space is so limited in the carrera the tiny front boot and back seats just fail to suffice.

Going to look into an older 997 now this could be a great choice tbh.

I'm confused. Does the 911 have enough space or not? And if it does then do what somebody said earlier and stick £150 a month towards it yourself and keep the Carrera 4S.

The 4 wheel drive 911's have much less room in the front boot than 2 wheel drive ones.

He has a 4 wheel drive one at the moment.

I'd keep your mouth shut - you clearly don't know much about cars in the first place - you don't seem that much of a "Petrol Head" either tbh.

I'd sit back, enjoy the position you find yourself in and appreciate whatever Daddy decides to buy for daughter.

Next man would appreciate it I assure you. ;)

This post wins the thread.
