So who's got an XBOX "Slim" coming this week?

I'll be getting mine on Friday. I was asked by GAME if i wanted to attend the midnight launch "party" , I politely declined , dont they know my reputation, and enquired what the console was bundles with. They will not know until wednesday what games may come bundles with the new slim.
I'm going to need to find out gow to get my game saves off my old 360 which is now 3RROD!

Well the high street shop i went to in Cornwall told me that they had very low pre-orders for the new Slim.

Only downside is that i'm getting the misses to collect it Friday and i can't use it till Monday evening due to me working away this weekend! I never work weekends.....new contract and all that!

as much as i would like one. i cant help worrying about the reliability of these new consoles. im reading far too many posts on the xbox forums where the op is having problems.

Serious question now, if you had a six month old super elite would it be worth loosing 2 years or so warranty (stumpy only has 1) just to for the noise difference? Wireless isnt needed and stumps run hotter but use less power, so is it worth it?

I guess it depends how much the noise effects you. My trade in was a little daft so I'm probably not the best person to comment.

so any ideas on how to save all my game saves onto the new slim when my current 360 is 3RROD ? Can i just plug the old HDD in and do it that way ? I hope so as thats tooo much forza replay 2 cope with!

cheers

Probably need a transfer cable. About £15, although there used to be one doing the rounds on the forums here.

Old HDD won't fit new 360.

You can buy the official ms data transfer kit for the 360 which will
connect your original drive to the new 360 via usb and allow you to
copy the data across to the slim's internal hdd.

Your spending £100+ and gaining nothing.. Not really worth it

Another bit of marketing everyone is fooling for, seriously why trade in a perfectly good console with the balance of 3 years warranty left and still hand over £120 for one of these.

Yeah I can understand it if you need a replacement, but 250 HDDs are only £42 for the 360 now and to trade in a super elite is pointless. It's like the emperors new clothes on here sometimes.

I will wait until mine breaks and the play testing is done by someone else before I hand money over to MS again for a new product, even then I'd still rather pick up a super elite and have 3 years of warranty as I install all my games anyway.

I think most people just want a new toy (even if it is basically the same). I'm getting it for no other reason TBH. I'm so use to spending money on PC hardware that I'm happy to drop £100 to get a shiny new xbox just for the novelty of a slightly different form. That and I run a few USB things off my XBOX and want them all round the back.

does anyone know if the new pads thumbsicks are still pretty stiff(compared to ps3's). also is the deadzone on the sticks still the same?
