Ordered a viper green scirocco!

I just don't get it. Why do this to yourself? Why not get a loan from a bank, buy a cheaper car and have an asset at the end of the loan term. You may not feel like this now but you WILL regret this in the future. As Fox states this is effectively money down the drain.

Since we're all being brutally honest here. Damn ugly car, damn ugly colour. And the lease is going to butt**** you financially in about 3 years time.

Did the salesman at least give you a reacharound?

Personally if you're happy with the car then it's worth every penny, going to have a far better feel good factor than a golf! Gorgeous car, love the colour, enjoy it!

As for people saying he should have got a cheaper car, why settle for something that you won't be happy with. I'm stuck with a car I don't like because of making that choice

On a serious note, does he have an option to cancel this purchase? Will there be a cooling off period? Obviously this chap has received some advice from you all, I just wonder what he can do if he changes his mind, or whether it's too late?

.

As for comments about the engine size, I see nothing wrong with it - some people just want a nice looking car and don't want/need to go fast. This is something that very few people on this forum can grasp.

Agreed, there is nothing wrong with the engine choice, the good thing about such an engine is when you do inevitably get bored of the power you can slap a remap on it and liven it up again.

However that is a moot point here as he doesn't own the car to remap yet :p

OP, listen to fox's advice, he speaks the truth.

Someone will get a decent 3 year old Sirocco now in 3 years time, nice and cheap once you've paid for most of the deprecitation.

Anyway, take the advice on here, but ignore the haters and the sarcasm that normally accompany. Ultimately, if you're happy with what you did then that's fine. You don't have to run your life according to the OcUK Motors bible.

engine failure :(

one day youll wake up and realise you have a ONE POINT FOUR and go on a shooting rampage.

looks lovely, goes like a glacier

I used to love customers like you when I worked at Toyota, a couple of you a week made me a happy chappy

You got sold and I would seriously consider cancelling and going back to your original idea of buying second hand for the above mentioned reasons

If you're happy and can afford to lose money (which you will, seriously), then who really cares?

Were there better financial options than this? Almost certainly, and the car would be much better with a larger engine, but at the end of the day, it's your money.

Enjoy your new car :)

What will the monthly payments be like on something like this then?
Depends on the deposit placed, but specc'd as the OP says it's £20,500.

Assuming a 15% deposit minimum (£3000) and 10k miles a year, VW's site says roughly £315 a month x 35, leaving just under £10k at the end.
