Ordered a viper green scirocco!

Personal leasing vs. company leasing is very fiddly. At my last place of work we occasionally did consultancy work to figure out whether it was more cost effective for an employer to lease a car for an employee, or to buy the car, or to give the employee more cash for PCP... There were so many factors to consider and it could go any which way.

Indeed. I've looked at the "take the cash and get my own car instead" option a few times but there's always relatively little in it and the totally hassle-free nature of company cars appeals to me :)

I've always had a choice between company car vs car allowance, your right there is nothing in it if you want to run the same car as what the company offer you, the only way of making it worthwhile is to run something seconhand and older, i've always made money out of the schemes this way.

I'm given £295 pm and 5ppm nett and a untaxed fuel card my car cost me £4.5k three years ago and I've spent circa £3k keeping it running insured taxed etc i've pocketed £6-7k because I'm happy not driving a new 118d / 320d and the cars probably worth £2.5k now

Oh granted, you can make a killing if you're prepared to take the cash but get a much cheaper car than you'd otherwise be provided with by the company but I quite like my shiny new cars at the moment. This may change at some point but, as I don't exactly need the extra cash right now, I may as well continue as before for now :)

BTW, by "untaxed fuel card", I presume you mean one for business fuel only?
