My good god its got an APM of 2000-3000 during battles (average about 550-600 throughout the game). No joke it brings a ghost to the battle and it sounds like its firing a machine gun.

Needless to say I've not won yet... (playing against a Very hard Terran AI as a Zerg)

AI Shmay-eye. Beat Terran AI on Very Hard 3 times in a Row, that seems consistent enough for me to say I am now better that all of the Non-Cheating Terran AI's

I guess I should move on to Protoss :)

It seems that the key is to just play well. Get your timeings right, don't supply block yourself, remember to vomit Larva, remember to scout, remember to expand, remember to drone up, remember to build units, remember to expand your creep.

Once you start "Just Doing It" the AI becomes beatable with no fancy stuff. I literally ling up, hydra up (sometimes I build infestors) then with a small amount of battle micro and a few spine crawlers its all good.

I even won after losing my Fast Expo and a bunch of drones to a reaper harass.

I really enjoyed this 'cos I hate Terran so much.

Basically I scout him appearing to go 111 so I macro up intending to go for voidrays. He gets a delayed scv into my base and sees my stargate near completion. So I think screw this, I cancel it, drop down 3 more gateways and a robo and twilight, going for roboblink.

His reaction to my stargate is vikings + turrets. Eventually he sends in his vikings to see what is going on, only to get smacked in the face with stalkers. He has like two tanks and a handful of marines which I wipe out without breaking a sweat.

I love games like this one :) ESPECIALLY when it's a terran on the receiving end.

Hmm, that was an odd game. If you watch from the terran's perspective, he quite clearly sees the stargate getting canceled, maybe he just wasn't paying enough attention. Also, he didn't make any units. Normally at that stage a terran will have about 400 marines, but his supply never even went above 51 all game.

I was just minding my own business, buildings probes, when JESUS CHRIST 400 LINGS IN MY BASE

I managed to hold it off, but it was probably the longest ling rush of all time. I had lings in my base for about 7 minutes, just barely surviving by chrono boosting my warp gates to make 2-3 zealots at a time. It wasn't for a while that I realised more gateways would've really helped. :o

But yeah, really funny game because my opponent and I are really bad. Well, I don't think I'm as bad as him because his money rarely dropped below 1000 for 3/4 of the game. :p

i play Zerg too, but not since the phase 2... can have a few late tonight if your about :)

Terran arent too bad btw, .. at least not my terran, lol

The only MU i won't play is PvP.. its so yawn, should it ever happen i just rage quit at the start.. or cheese just to make it entertaining for myself!.. butyeah, just shout if you wanna game :) you can pick my race, providing the above criteria is honoured! :p

Strange you hate pvp so much. It's my favourite matchup (mostly, because i win 90% of the time :))

I think he just saw the stargate, and then switched his brain off. There's a few things you can do to cause this, dts are one. Just one dt will cause a terran to lose his brain enough you can waltz up to his ramp with a 4 pheonixes and a bunch of stalkers and bust his front. DTs, rays, Gold level players just get into a panic and stop playing properly.

I do it myself a little bit with siege tanks. I just do stupid things when i see 6+ move out toward me. I'll post another replay later where I play like a moron, and win only becaue my opponent is an even bigger one.

Here's a small pack of mostly pvt replays that I enjoyed :) There's a weird pvp in there too that I had no business winning.

^ I was in a 2 vs 2 with a zerg players and 2 protoss opponents. One of the protoss sent dt (maybe 6) into my base and started chopping away, i had no probes or cannons. I also had a group of dt and did the same to him, luckily my zerg ally saw this and sent and overseer to detect them and they then got killed. He had no probes or anything either and I took out most his pylons and probes with them.
Moral of the story is to get probes, cannons or whatever else. What else can detect cloaked units? turrets, cannons, probes, overseeer...?

I think you mean observers. You missed Ravens too.

ooh let's see if i can remember all of the detectors..

protoss:
cannon, observer

Terran:
raven, missile turret, orbital command (scan), ghost (emp)

Zerg:
overseer, spore crawler

Did i miss any? :D

Had a similar 2v2 game once myself actually. They DT'd, so i DT'd in response. Managed to just hold of his while mine destroyed their base :D
