So who's got an XBOX "Slim" coming this week?

well transferred my live over to console and Found out that they give only a Silver for the month, ie mate bought an older version second hand and he got gold when he set it up.?

ps this is my first console since a Atari had years ago :-) now want to relive some invaders console style , now were do i go for those :-)

Picked up mine today. Love it, looks better than the last one. I like the touch sensitive buttons and beeps (I'm easily amused :D)

It seems better built than the old elite and sits well with my PS3. A win in my book!
 
Arghhhh the stupid music store where i put a £20 deposit down just rung and said they didnt get many in so didnt reserve me one...WTF was the point of taking £20 deposit for one only not to put one aside for me.

Told the manager that hes an utter muppet really...means im going to have to go and get my deposit back from them.

I sincerely hope my stupid music store do not follow suit. In theory I'm going to collect it after work...
 
Stupid music store came through for me. Picked up my xbox an hour ago and just installing some games now.

Much quieter than the elite plus fits in better with my room setup :D. A good purchase me thinks!
 
Picked mine up from HMV this morning and was pleased to see my a sticker with my name on it. At 9:30 ish they had a sign outside with a 15 crossed out and 2 remaining.

Over all I'm very pleased. It's much quieter (though I did have a launch Elite) and I love the touch buttons. Wireless is working well and it's lovely to have so much hd space. I do like the aesthetic and feel it fits well with the rest of my stuff.
Downsides? The power brick didn't seem any smaller and it's still noisy whilst spinning a DVD.

Here's a pic of it sat with my new 50" Plasma and reasonably new Onkyo receiver and 250GB PS3.

Good news, that music shop didn't let me down. Taking the ol' 2007 Elite in tomorrow - probably for the best anyway as the warranty is up this month and I've already experience one RRoD!
 
It does look pap. Certainly zero point in getting one if you already have a 360. I think it was just done so they could change the internals to avoid future RRoD's without just updating the original, which would have been a cause for more lawsuits.
 
Better than the original at least and there's a good reason to get one if you own an original 360.

If you wanted a bigger hard drive and wireless it'd work out only slightly more expensive to trade in your old 360 and get the new one, plus then you get the added bonus of the smaller power brick, nicer machine and what I would imagine; better reliability. It's finally viable as a DVD player too!

It looks slick next to my PS3 though, PS3 glossy phat 4 lyfe.

Edit: I personally wouldn't have paid extra though :p
