Valid reason though I mean if you wanted to upgrade your HDD and add wireless it would be like £80+ right? You can trade in a 360 for well over 60 of any type I think!

My old elite had graphical corruption so I hung onto it and waited for the new 360 then swapped it! It still worked technically but the screen went all dodgy after a little while.

waits for bargain crazy old style jasper 360's to appear i sold my old 360 after barely using it but may get a cheapo jasper again if the price is right

I guess it's best to have ps3 and 360 really as I heard many multi platform games are far better on 360 don't know if that's a myth or not though

i just dont get why people are rushing out to get these? i was excited on annoucement but iv had time to digest the hype and generally this is a bit of an epic waste of money if u already have a 360.

just seems like the whole having something new just for the sake of it routine.

I believe the motherboard is drastically different as opposed to some minor changes here and there. I think I saw a picture and it's a lot different looking!

The New one has a combined CPU and GPU on one chip.. It is very quite even when gaming the fan stays whisper quite. I can hear my PS3 over it and thats quite..

It pumps out a fair amount of heat, out the top ?? So it circulates all the heat nicely around your av cabinet. Exellent design .... lol

As a guy with a 20gb out of warranty 360 I wouldn't mind having a new, more reliable, quieter 360 with a huge hard drive to install games for even further reliability (less heat by not using disc drive). Then with built in wifi and better looks (in my opinion) it's not a bad deal. Final reason however is my girlfriend can have my old 360 and essentially borrow 360 games she wants like blue dragon, magna carta 2, lost odyssey and tales of vesperia. It's not a magnitude of changes but what has changed is sufficient enough to be interesting depending on what system you own and as I stated I had a measly 20gb 360.

Well just set mine up its very nice bit of kit so much nicer than the original!

just gotta sell that one now, And their right it is extremely quite so even more win deff reccomened.

Tempting, my 360 is starting to throw up random green textures on RDR and the noise is fairly deafening in the recent warmth we've been having...

I am dangerously close to getting one of these, just need to justify it as I have never been one for owning two consoles! The one thing that could persuade me is how good/bad GT5 turns out as I want a decent racing game that doesn't have the unrealistic ******* ridicules penalizing system when you bump other cars. Ooooh Halo 3 console. Not something you see overly often (well not for me anyway). Whats the deal with them, Limited Edition or similar? Chap down the road has one along with some other collectable bits & bobs.

yeah it was an limited edition, i'm hoping they bring out a halo reach limited edition too(in the new S model of course)

Depends how you do it. There is a Transfer like utility in the Memory settings. You press "Y" on your HDD then select to move it to your USB and you can then toggle stuff you want to copy. If you try selecting stuff from the drive then copying it, it will fail on certain things.

Not good, mine seemed to move all the data from HDD to the USB, which now seems to not be showing up as an xbox 360 formatted memory stick in all my xboxes, files in the xbox directory are showing on the PC, but I'm on the verge of possibly losing 100+ hours of forza and numerous other things...

Had a premium, then an elite, now new S. Didn't bother transferring the licenses to the Elite, but wanted to for this, says "Turn on and sign into your account on the 360". Did that, it said it detected my "New" console, but it detected my old Elite.

I think it has done that with mine aswell?
After I went through the stages on the website it showed me the download queue page, so I switched to the new Xbox and it said assigned to other console?
No real issue for me anyway though seen as I'm pretty much connected to Live all the time.

Its worth it imo, basically i'm paying approx £80 to upgrade after trading in my elite and getting a couple of new games cheaper like red dead and tiger woods 11 for £40 instead of around £70.

I was gonna pay £25 for a 2nd hand wireless adaptor for my old 360 so thats some money saved already, but now i have a much quieter console new pad and headset, double the disk space and i'll get some extra money back when selling anyway before the next console for ms comes out.
