The 258.96's a few days ago were WHQL candidates, the ones today are the full WHQL drivers.
So I presume they will be the same but without Windows saying it doesn't recognise the vendor? When I had my GTX 260, I only bothered updating the drivers every few months but I know with a new release card, there can be some decent performance boosts from keeping upto date with them.
I've asked before but. Will these scale well on a 780i board with a q6600 @ 3.2 GHz?
Need to think it through incase getting a beefier single card will be of more benefit. Does sli put more strain on the cpu? Would that strain be offset to the other cores that the game isn't using?

Presumably, but who knows if Nvidia changed anything between the two sets?
Hmm, I'm keeping a very close eye on this thread as I want a 460 at the end of the month (Work bonuses ROCK! 
) to replace my 8800GT ubt I don't want something that's going to be louder than what I have. Hopefully the Gigabyte board will become available by the end of the month but I have my suspicions that if everyone wants one then the price will creep up to over £200.

I'm thinking of buying the complete OC system "Titan Xenomorph" Intel Core i3 530 2.93GHz @ 4.20GHz Nvidia Edition DDR3 System.
The system comes with a OcUK Value GeForce GTX 460 1024MB card. I am currently using an old 2.66GHz dual core system with a 5770. Would this be a noticable upgrade for me and is the OcUK GTX460 card sufficent for my needs?
Playing Wow, LFD2 and other newish games and playing movies. Any advice would be greatfully received.

Clock the dual core you have and just get a new GPU.
So really not worth updating the system as a whole then?

I'd sell your dual core, put whatever you get for it towards a second-hand Q6600 (G0 stepping), should be able to overclock to at least 3Ghz on that board. Then sell your 5770 and buy one or even two Gigabyte 1GB OC GTX 460's.
Job done!
And a lot cheaper option than buying a new system!
Yeah its the blower. Its the same as the one Mame had in the other thread. All black with the fan at the far end pushing the air out of the case.
Only had it setup for a short while but so far the idle noise is a bit lower than the 8800GT it replaced. Its much more of an air moving sound than a spinning fan motor... a blower
Idle temps read 33C (a bit better than the 60c of the 8800gt)

Sounds quite promising from what eggyoke said compared to an 8800GT that he had. He got the inno3d model.
What resolution do you play at?
You should try oc the cpu to 3ghz at least as that will be a nice sweet spot, for those games and newish games easily. And your gpu is still good if you're not worried about totally maxing out new games on a higher resolution. I think your system is still good for gaming.
KelticDaz's idea doesn't sound bad though, it's an idea I've considered in the past.
Apologies for the questions but pricing has really confused me now. Looking at upgrading for either a GTX 460 or 470, is the extra £20-30 for a 470 worth it? Not really fussed about noise levels I get the annoying capasitor squeel atm with my GPU

8GB DDR2? I thought the Phenom II's only worked on an AM3 socket board which only supported DDR3?

the 4 year old AM2NF3-VSTA I have can run phenom 2 X4, although they claim certain graphics card restriction with a compatible list, and "If you use AM3 / AM2+ CPU on AM2 chipset motherboard, the system bus speed will downgrade from HT3.0 (5200 MT/s) to HT1.0 (2000 MT/s), but the CPU frequency will not be influenced."
