***Official***Smashing Southern Meet (Hampshire Meet Mk V)

I'll come, I like the Southern meets the best anyway, I will probably still have the BMW 540i then, but with me ...it's hard to say for certain :D

Lets just go to a McDonalds car park, do some burnouts, trash the car park with tyre marks and have a Big Mac!

Done! The one in Basingstoke has an adequately sized car park. I say we take some cones and make a mini-course :D

BTW: I shall be there :)

You've already been to the White Horse in Hawkley havent you? I could ask the missus for a decent pub in the petersfield area, she frequents a few down that way :p

You know you wanna bring the Bentley

Hehe yea, I have driven it but I don't think I could take it out for a motors meet :p ...tbh it's a lot like the Jag in many ways just more ...more power, more chrome, more leather ...more, more, more :p but quite similar in many ways.

Actually Dad is looking to sell it now, he's only had it 10 months so far but he wants something a little different (says he has 'done the Bentley thing' now) and less ...savagely expensive to run. He came in with a load of brochures for the new Z4 specifically the Z4M the other day ...and has expressed interest in the F10 5 series (the 535i not the 550i much to my bewilderment) and the Audi R8 (V10 more than the V8) ...although the R8 would cost just as much as the FS to run I imagine.

It's hard to say for certain right now since he can be more unpredictable than me with cars but I'm going to hedge my bets and say I think he will end up with a BMW again, I really don't know weather it will be a Z4M of a 535i though to be honest. The only enduring thing about Dad's car choices is that no matter what 'sillyness' goes on at times it almost always seems to come back to a BMW or a Jaguar at the end of the day.

Talk about a disparate selection cars though, if someone came on here and listed those and said they were interested they'ed probably get told to work out what the hell it is they want from a car but this really is his 'list' so far. Practicality isn't the most pressing concern as his wife has an X5 and a C class Merc so he can always use one of those if he needs to. But a total lack of back seats really will cause him some headaches, I know this and he knows this but if he sets his mind on something then it'll likely happen.

Why :(

And yes that's an interesting selection but I guess it's nice to have the money and ability to choose from such a diverse selection!

Insurance mainly, I can drive it with 3rd party insurance with his permision but to actually take it out like that I would need proper fully comprehensive cover on it and that's expensive enough when you're 55 so I dare not think what it would be like at 26, also I don't live with my Dad either so I can't exactly play anytime the fancy takes me exactly.
