My son has just completed his first year on a BTEC Nationa Diploma For IT Practitioners, now he put absolutely no effort in and still had units outstanding 3days before the cut off date. I have no doubt in my mind that he hasnt passed the all the units for the first year.
When i asked him if he passed he said that he would find out when he enroles for the second year, which i believe to be utter rubbish and in fact he has failed and is hoping he can blag his way through to the second year. Why would find out on a two year course when you go to enrole for the second year if you have passed the first year..........you find out pass or fail well in advance of enroling for the 2nd year, right ?
So, the question is, if you fail the first year on a Btec National Diploma are you allowed to carry on to the 2nd year ? Is it up to the tutors to decide if you can proceed (if you failed) or is it as clear cut as FAIL AND YOUR OUT ?
The cut off date for the course work was 25th june and the course is assessment based so would i be right in saying he would know by now if he passed or failed ?
