Why are folks posting 980x results, it is ruining the thread
Can a mod remove the posts ?
no
all 6 cores at 4ghz.
So gareth got 7.07 and setter 6.70 using the latest build of Cinebench.
Must be something wrong!!!!?!?!?!
yes the latest build prefers actual cores to hyperthreading
aparently ita fair because its 6cores vs 6 cores...
you can probably get a 12core amd server cpu for the same price maybe i should try to find someone with one![]()
yes the latest build prefers actual cores to hyperthreading
Take a dig all u want, guess u never got my point, nvm.
And so far the 980X's have been using HT, so thats not a pure 6 core vs 6 core is it?
I for one would like to see how they both are clock for clock, core for core.
Hence why i personally think someone should test a 980X with HT off, so just the cores, at the same speed. But hey ho.
the only reason to benchmark with HT on and off is to see the difference Ht makes on that particular cpu. benchmarking a 1090t against a 980x with ht off is a pointless waste of time. you dont buy a cpu with hyper threading and then turn it off. it's like buying a 5870 and disabling a 3rd of the shader cores.
Now I see why this thread was titled
Cinebench 10 i7 V X6
.... very sly indeed but we all fell for it
Is it really that big of a deal? v11.5 also uses 100% CPU after all
Dude, I'm neutral to all this
