Pronunciation: Thee or The

Hail to thee squire, let me tend to thine steed, whilst thou quaffs a flaggen of mine finest ale.

I've had to actually speak to myself to figure out what I do, and I alternate it as explained before. Completely sub concious and I don't remember ever being taught it!

It depends whether the following word begins with a vowel or not.

Word following starts with a vowel sound use "Thee" word following starts with a consonant sound use "Thuh". So "Thee product" would be wrong while "Thee hour" would be right.

I would find that amusing too.

"thee" when the following word begins with a vowel sound, not just begins with a vowel (example: the(e) hourly rate)
"the" when the following words doesn't.

thee end.

As long as you don't say "vuh"

and what if i do? i bet i still earn more a year than you do so its not exactly holded my back i never even realised it until i was 25 years old and someone pointed it out by that time i figured it was to late to correct.

my teachers at school should have corrected me i assume but obviously they didnt

Depends on the emphasis you need to place on it in the sentence.

I would find that amusing too.

"thee" when the following word begins with a vowel sound, not just begins with a vowel (example: the(e) hourly rate)
"the" when the following words doesn't.

thee end.

All of "thee" above.
