Is it just me ?

I was on the train the other day, so I settled down for the journey with a copy of CPC magazine and PC gamer.

Some guy opposite me said "Oh, you play games ? so do I" I thought great, this will pass the time. So we chatted about CoD4, MW2, discussing tactics and the maps. I was then telling him about my rig and what bits I had in it. I then asked him what sort of rig he had, he said "I've got an X-box 360".

I don't know why, but the conversation with him about games didn't seem the same, so I buried my head into the magazines.

Is it just me or has this happened to you too ?

lol whenever I talk to someone about games and they then tell me they play on console, I lose interest.

You don't play on consoles? There are console games I love, but I would never get certain genres of games on console.

I enjoy the occasional platformer or racing game on a console - but I mean when talking about for example Call of Duty or Battlefield

If you were really a fan of games, as you seem to be saying you are, you wouldn't have the crappy attitude your OP also suggests.

Letting your attitude about console gamers spills from online forums in to the real world; wow. Pretty sad/worrying and also hilarious you would have these kinds of thoughts and issues running around in your head.

I don't enthuse about PCs or consoles. We don't all have that kind of mentality on these forums.

I do get enthusiastic about the games though.

I don't get this at all. It would open up an interesting conversation. That way you could have had a good time instead of buying your head in your mags while the other guy is thinking what a jerk you are.

Oh, and in case you think this post is also insulting: If I were you I wouldn't ask for peoples' opinions and expect none of them to disagree you.

If you were talking about COD/MW2 and tactics in those games does it really matter if it's on the 360 or PC, I thought those games are the same on all platforms :confused:

I've had similar conversations, mainly at work. The console players are usually unaware that people play games on pc! And a few even tried telling me to get an xbox if I wanted to play real games!

But I've never stopped a conversation because of it
