I don't enthuse about PCs or consoles. We don't all have that kind of mentality on these forums.
I do get enthusiastic about the games though.
So you don't despise the way consoles are holding games back?

What ? You're trying to tell us we shouldn't have opinions/likes/dislikes/attitudes ?
I find that hilarious that you wouldn't have these kind of thoughts running around in your head < -- sorry, stole that last line from you![]()

I hope you asked him why, as a console gamer, he felt himself able to look you in the eyes and address you without prefixing every sentence with 'Sir'?
They're not. Quite the opposite: there's a LOT of money being made in consoles (and their games), and money can be invested in new games/developers/services/ideas/staff etc which in turn generates even more cashflow.
I think the majority of the best games have been released on consoles in the last few years. Just an opinion of course. Doesn't mean I dislike PC gaming either - I know it has its benefits: graphics and online (when dedicated servers are in use) are both better. But, the graphics on the consoles aren't THAT far behind to make it a deciding factor and the online services offered by consoles are pretty darn good too (just not AS good).
Insecure. He clearly wasn't responding to your post - it would make no sense.
The simple fact of the matter is: if consoles didn't exist games would be generations ahead of what we have now.
You can't deny that almost every game released now is dumbed down to suit console needs. (less demanding visuals, smaller maps / levels, smaller scale, "consoley" interface, less configuration and customization, etc, the list goes on and on)
I think piracy on the PC is also largely to blame, who wants to invest millions into developing a game when they know it will be pirated by a lot of people, this makes return of investment a gamble. The simple fact of the matter is: if consoles didn't exist games would be generations ahead of what we have now.
Swings and roundabouts isn't it.
Easy solution: Use SteamI think piracy on the PC is also largely to blame, who wants to invest millions into developing a game when they know it will be pirated by a lot of people, this makes return of investment a gamble.
Is it really piracy proof though, I remember HL1 being available before the Steam players could even play/authenticate?Easy solution: Use Steam
If my developers used Steam as their prime distributor then piracy would lower incredibly, although it would still exist of course
