*Official OMG I got my 460 thread*

you'll never get any sleep tonight with those trailing alternating thoughts, come on you have to be up early in case the courier comes before midday.

Just get a standard edition, they are plenty fast for most games, and you can clock it manually later if you get a new PSU. They all overclock like monsters anyway :)

it better come before midday!!! i have company of heroes to catch up on....

as hex says it should turn up pre 12 :D

Between 7am-12 on a Sat apparently.

:D

i wont be able to sleep :)

I'm trying to decide which version to get, OC'd seems like a bad idea with me pushing my PSU to the limits with a normal edition.

i cant remember where but i think there was a small guide saying that the different models had a slightly different voltage set in the bios, prob best to try and go for one with lowest voltage (probably stock, will see if i can find it

Oh? The sites I've checked have said there's isn;t much in it. a few db or a few 'C here and there. Please, do tell.

A lot quieter at higher temps/fanspeed.

Dedicated VRM heatsink (MSI has none)

Potentially higher overclocks

And this:

100x better than the Palit. It's like night and day.

Max load in Kombustor... 66C!

Idle, totally silent.

Full Kombustor, you can hear the air moving, its a blowy noise. But it's NOT an annoying whine fan noise.

It's very easily ignored, and blends in with your normal ambient case fan noise.

It's so much better its unreal. Cooler, quieter, and just better in every way.

You can easily lower the max fan speed as well, 66C under full load is ridiculously cool running, so I'm going to have a play with the fan profile.

Also load volts for this card is 0.9750V, which is pretty low for an OC'd card!

Furthermore, even the packaging for the card is a billion times better ;):D

Oh hell's yeah:cool:
Hex do you by any chance have crysis installed? if so when at the loading with v sync disabled does it make the whiny squeal?

awesome mines turned*screams like a girl* :O eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

its so shiny :) will try post a quick pic

Just the one :)

OC'd to 800/1600/4000 (same as sonic plat), on stock 0.9750V.

Manual fan profile, 50% idle (totally silent in my case), 60% max (at 80C), which is just audible if you really listen for it over the case fans.

HAPPY :D

Same speed as the Sonic Plat, but completely quiet under Furmark/Kombustor load. :D

Will give it a go in a bit, but under load in Kombustor there's no squeal at all. :)
