Just Cause 2

Awsome game. So i've got 4 hours into it but that Mile High Club is soo random. I remember flying to it thinking "ffs, turn your music down {insert house mates name}" but realised it was the game...also the crazy North Korea'sk places are cool, the radio totally rips into them. I will admit running out of ammo got tired quick so im using the following mods:

HD Clouds
Free+NoCutScene BM

Graphics are nice but all the comments ive seen made it out to be crysis+GTA but its not even close.

I love the game, when modded it's brilliant, only in my opinion it does lack an in-vehicle radio like GTA. Although it's not important, and I tend to play with iTunes on anyway, it does quite annoy me. :o

Screen Space Ambient Oclussion, if your trying to optimise performance I'd turn off vsync it really sucks down the fps in this game for some reason.

V-Sync will bring down FPS in any game if it doesn't match the refresh rate of the monitor you're using. At least I think it works something like that.

I had a few hours of fun on this game when I bought it a week or so ago, then let it be...gone back on now and frustrated at flying jets and doing the time race things...first time I've ever tried but I can barely get past the first ring, the second one has about 1/8th visable as it's inside a bloody tree...I keep crashing into the damn thing.

V-sync should only be enabled if your computer can handle an fps that is always higher than your monitors refresh rate, otherwise you'll probably get quite noticeable juddering between frame rates.

some benchmarks :D

this is the first one (dark tower)

#2 (desert sunrise)

hmm it doesnt like the 3rd quite so much (concrete jungle)

im missing a few Nvidia perks like enhanced water detail and bokeh filter (whut evr that is) which is a shame as i get good fps :(

The quickest way to get around? its win :D

Not sure if its quicker then the ones from the blackmarket, i also think they look different?

Was some mod i found

Anyone know of a mod what gets rid of the cut scenes or makes them skip-able? I think they are called cut scenes atleast ;) Some of them you can skip but some can't

quick question, cant be bothered to read all 27 pages to see if its answered.

If I have a coupon for a digital downlaod copy of this game, can I burn onto a disk, what is downloaded to save having to get it again? so if I ever do a reinstall, I can just use the newly burnt disk, like if I had bought the game from a shop?

Its a steamworks game (requires steam even if bought elsewhere) so once installed in steam you can either use the steam backup feature to set a back up (even set it to dvd sized portions), though this method can be quite slow and crappy.

Its far quicker just to manually copy/burn the Just Cause 2 folder (steam/steamapps/common/Just Cause 2) to wherever you want. Then when you go to install the game again simply copy the folder back into the location open up steam and it will either show as installed or just dbl click the game and steam will run a check and see that you've got all the files already.

EDIT: I AM R SLOW :(

So, has the recent patch ruined this game for anyone else? The game was perfectly smooth but now judders and I get awful pop-in of objects where there was none before.

Dunno what to think really (downloaded the demo). It just seems like Far Cry 2 in a 3rd person perspective with an unhealthy obsession on causing random destruction.

Got a few hours before the price goes back up so i'll give it some thought.

I thought the same thing, but it is a fun game to play.

I find it a nice one to just randomly log on for 30mins -1hour or so and just blow the crap out of everything for a while then turn it off.

Oddly satsifying...
