Go back to the Nexus and talk to Maiden in Black. She's the blind girl wandering around the middle area. She sends you upstairs to talk to Monumental. After you've done that, you can go back down and spend your souls at her to level up :)

After that, well you can do anything. Maybe continue world 1, the next bit isn't too difficult but you may want to summon some blue phantoms (or even become one) to learn the level a bit. Boss at the end is fun too!

You can also try worlds 2,3,4,5 but some of them are pretty nasty for a beginner. Alternatively, do 1-1 again and just get your movement and attacks sorted so that you stand a better chance in 1-2, seeing as it is mostly the same enemies.

i have got to the bottom and i cannot find what im looking to melee , all i manage to do is get stuck between his arms and get hit by him .
there is something stuck in his side but every time i hit it ,his health bar is staying the same so not sure what i have to do , is there anywhere to take cover to replenish or do you think i might need to upgrade more .

Yep hit him in the stomach where he's injured and eventually he'll fall over so you can hit the bird on his head. Stand well back when he swings his sword.

I've wandered into some place with troll like miners. I got past the first fat, laughing, fire shooting dude but the second one up on a platform deaded me. :(

If you stay on the left hand side of the platform you can get across to him and then melee him dodging his attacks. Or use a bow from distance to take him down.

Just started this today as a thief (possibly not the best choice.)

How do you tell which level is 1-1 etc? or do you have to read something to find out?

each statue in the nexus is 1-1 2-1 etc you open up 1-2 when you have finish 1-1 ;)

I have just saved up 50,000 souls to get the ring of Avarice and found i have a even bigger chance of losing all my souls :( the thief's ring is much better for me anyway .

I'm a theif and he's pretty good from the start as he has a bow. Arrows can be brought from the guy in the nexus so there's a good supply + later you can get better arrows.

Don't buy the Avarice ring as you will find it later (for free!!!!!!!!!!!) plus you will get spells that give you far more souls than that ring.

i had already purchased it never mind , i knew i should have waited that amount of souls could have done wonders for my stamina :(

Its bloody solid. Tried 2-1 (miners one) and got absolutely owned!

Ah, 2-1... I did that earlier :D

If it is your first time in the level, when you die and revive in soul form, use the blue stone to leave a marker. Then you can help another player as a blue phantom, if you have 2-3 people doing a level it is much easier and allows you to see what is ahead of you.

Like exhashdotdot said, you can pretty much ignore the fire guy. You don't actually have to kill him afaik - and I still find them a pain to take out as I don't have any spells and my ranged is pretty weak.

skippi90, are you on the US version? If so, add my PSN: aypez and we can go through a few levels together. I already have you on mine.

Going clockwise from the blue warrior sitting on the steps, the stones go 1-2-3-broken-4-5. Second number just represents the stage.

I nailed 4-1 earlier with a bit of help, and 4-2 is great for farming souls because you can just shoot the Reaper guy with your bow. There are a few video guides on youtube and stuff.

Also did 2-1 and I nailed 2-2, but I need to go back and have a go at the boss. Didn't want to risk my souls so I used Evacuate to go back to the Nexus and level up a bit.

Hopefully I can get World 2 and 3 done soonish, then do 1-3 and 1-4 as well as worlds 4 and 5, which are a bit more difficult...

...and I haven't been invaded yet.

As you can see, I should really finish off FFXIII or start Blazblue lol

Finally going to be taking Demon's Souls out my console :O

I have just started again as Royality class. This was the class of my first character which i failed miserably with. On starting the game again, i can honestly say this is one awesome character!

Has ranged attack & melee and can be moulded into anything you want!

I just got a PS3, pretty much for Demon's Souls, and it has lived up to all the hype. Absolutely superb game.

Anyway, I haven't got that far - only about 10 hours played, but I had a glance at the strategy guide so I could understand world tendency. It seems to suggest that online the world tendency is set at a sort of overall, which is slightly nearer to pure white than offline, and that if you want to be in full control of WT you need to play offline.

There is something thats puzzling me though. Say I slay a boss demon offline and world tendency moves towards pure white, when I go back online will it overright my offline WT with the online one, thereby undoing my work? And would this work the other way round, like if I go online and move the WT towards pure white then play offline will it be saved like that?

I know its probably not worth worrying about on your first playthrough but I'd still like to know.

I've got this sitting on my desk to play tonight after the athletics. I'm concerned - if I don't like repeating things over and over again, will I hate this game? :p

When you go online (as in, as soon as you logon to the DS server) your world tendency is set to the average of all the players on the server (atleast, I think that's how the tendency is decided - it's usually close to Pure white).

So say you got PBWT in world 1 offline, if you then went online, your world tendency in world 1 would be set to whatever the server's tendency is. This means that if you want to keep your world tendencies constant, you should avoid connecting to the DS server.

That said, I recommend you play the game online for the first playthrough - it's a lot more fun this way.
