Yeh I did this already, he is adamant that this is better as it has less miles. I think you can only help people so much, and if they want to make certain decisions then you just leave them to it.

Just another angle to think of. Driving an 8 year old car can get annoying. It's even more annoying when you've paid... £17,500 for it only 3 years previously..

Absolutely.

In fact, the car would be FAR better with 100k, FSH and a price aimed at the regular market rather than the cretins who pay a premium for a coked up, low mileage use, stop start ruined motor...... (I exaggerate a tad but you get the drift....)

Leave them to it indeed.
