So my camera was on a chair today with the 50mm on it and someone leaned on the chair which caused the camera to roll off and hit the floor.
Picked it up, seemed fine, took a picture and and I here a *thunk* - the front of the lens had popped out when trying to focus...so I carefully pushed it back in, have taken a few shots so seemed ok.
I'm now very conscious of the lens and don't really trust it...also have 4 weddings coming up this year where no doubt it'll get used a lot.
The guy who knocked it couldn't apologise enough, he said straight away if it needs replacing just to let him know and he'll sort it out for me.
I'm going to do some sharpness tests on it tonight, but I'm very wary of it
- Shall I not take the risk and just get it replaced? or if it seems ok just carry on as normal? what would you do?
Guy was very genuine and I don't hold anything against him, these things happen
