Just got me a PS3!

The best benefit that Live has is its system wide connectivity. E.g. I can see in my friends list who is doing what all the time. If they're in multiplayer, I can see which map. If the session is not full I can join them in a single button press. PSN has nothing like this - it's the games themselves that have to implement it. I think there's only a handful that support joining and even less that tell you exactly what a friend is doing in game.

How rubbish is the PSN compared to Live? It seems a million miles behind IMO. Can you get GTA Liberty city stories and can you play multiplayer like the 360 version?

Live is a premium service and imo you get what you pay for. PSN stills serves it's purpose and I've enjoyed it plenty (don't own a 360 anymore).

As for games I just finished Uncharted 2 and can't recommend it enough. Killzone 2 is also pretty good if you like brown Halo clones. Other exclusives that get a lot of press (I haven't played them yet) include:
  • MGS4
  • LittleBigPlanet
  • inFamous
  • God of War 3

I own both. I want to hear the reasons. I'm not starting any "war" like you claim, but for someone to post saying something is better than it's competitor and not give any reasons, is what I would call a "Useless Post".

So please, Reason No 1........

If I could help then I would say that the overall interface is much cleaner and easier to use and has more features such as party chat, joining sessions in progress etc.

er,it isn't. I have both and playing online there is no difference(and this is going by MW2 on both platforms). The only downside to PSN is that a lot of people don't talk on it.

I disagree. I much prefer the playstation dashboard than the 360 one.

Clearly you don't know what you're talking about as if you'd seen my gamertag you'll see I've spent a fair bit of time using a 360 thank you. The only actual benefit that is apparent with Xbox Live is the party system, almost every other online aspect is available in the same capacity on the PSN for free. I don't agree with the above either, on the XMB you can see what your friends are playing.

I would say one big advantage of PSN over Live is that the average user age is a lot higher.

From watching my mate play MW2 on the 360, he may as well be sat in a creche.
