go to the gun clubs

do the drive around Red Rock and wish you had a decemt car and no speed limits ;)

To be fair anywhere half decent for a few weeks and isn't Spain is at least that per person. All the more reason not to waste more than you have too on flights. The saving could upgrade your hotels or rental car for example.

Do Canary Islands count as Spain?

How about a 5* all inclusive in Egypt? (or on a private island in Egypt?)

Sounds like I've picked the wrong airline :( Sigh.

How do I know if I get one of the older planes? It's an A340-600...

Bit late i know fox, but put your flight number in here

http://v-flyer.com/the-toolbox/which-aircraft

it will tell you what plates fly that route, and what % of them have Vport, Vport is on demand one only found in the airbus planes that fly out of LHR. Vport is the one to have.

Most of the LGW or MAN ones are 747-400 with no on demand system. Half will run odyssy and half will run nova which only has 10 channels - crap beyond crap.

Expensive is relative.

However, think what you can do with the extra £1,000 when you get there !

I rather put that towards a nicer hotel for the week instead of 9 hours on the plane. I did 14 hours to HK in economy on CP, and it's fine.

MrLOL, i have flown with Virgin a few times transatlantic from LHR, i swear they have all had Vport thus far? Is this different in different cabins or something, or have i just been very very lucky? (I only have experience of Upper Class).

I have always had V port from LHR

so yes, if you fly out of LHR, you will most likely get V Port :) Unless your plane breaks and they send one of the old 747s of course ..

I guess with time I will come to appreciate spending £1000 for a little extra comfort, but at 24, I would much rather have the cash for hookers and blow when I arrive at my destination.

Singapore Air do not need premium economy, their economy is awesome.

A380 Economy on SA to Singapore, power in every seat, 3-4 foot of legroom in my chosen seat, excellent service and food. Cheapest one-way flight including transfer to Phuket. There is a reason SA is the best airline.

Nothing is worth paying extra for unless it has lie flat seats.

They fly both the A380 and 747s. You can pick which one you want based on departure times.

Fantastic aircraft. Even have e-mail/sms/sat phone options in every seat (assuming you want to pay the going rates)

Who do you work for?

£150 + taxes for a First Class ticket seems a bit too good to be true..

I just checked, double that to include UK tax and that is about right. That is the only tax I pay so I guess I can live with it, still annoying though!

Does anyone know how common it is for flights to offer in-flight internet access and how much that costs? That would certainly make my trip much more bearable...

I've only ever seen it on USA internal flights. I've used the Gogo service through my iPhone when flying Delta and the service was excellent for the price. IIRC it was $5.99 for the duration of the flight.
