Well the series has the the old slow type of zombies. Although it also has zombies degenerate from when they are relatively "fresh" and with that both their speed and strength goes.

Ah good good...I have always preferred the traditional zombie types where they just inexorably keep coming and coming. Not really too much a fan of the modern zombie running about.

Too right. Those are the only kind of zombies in my book - fast moving dead people aren't zombies!

Looks promising particularly as Frank Darabont is behind it, should lend some weight to the whole thing.

Did anyone else find the comics a bit lacking and unoriginal ?

Its probably an odd thing to say about a comic but i found the characters to a be a little 2 dimensional and very stereotyped. Grimes was also a little odd, one moment he'd quite calm and then suddenly ranting like a nutter then instantly calm. Only read upto the prison one (4th or 5th compilation ? ) and i found it all a bit irritating by then.

Dont get me wrong, i love a good Zombie movie and have been a huge Romero fan ever since seeing Dawn of the Dead in the VHS boom in the early eighties at an age far too young to have been watching it.

The Comic-Con trailer is available on youtube now, as well as the Walking Dead panel which seems to last about 1hr.

Search for 'walking dead trailer' and 'walking dead panel'.

Just noticed this thread :) looking good

When is this out in UK?
do you need Sky?

Yep (Sky, Virgin etc).

Says on the previous page and Google. FX has bought the rights for the show and it will get a UK premiere in October.

I'm also not so sure about the guy cast as Rick Grimes - he looks like that English fella from Teachers for a start.

The rest of the cast looks pretty much spot on.

Picked up the first graphic novel and by the introduction it sounds as if it's going to be pretty awesome, can't wait until I get the second one.

Looking forward to the series

i hope its better than the comic book series ... yes i said it ... not trolling the thread. I dig darabont though, So heres hoping.
