opethdisciple, be happy with the card you've bought. Had you got a 470, I can see you being disappointed with that and wondering if you should have gotten a 5870. Just be happy with your card, stop reading reviews and go and play some games.
And if you're getting stuttering, you could very well be CPU limited, so it doesn't matter if you got a 470, it'd still be happening.
What games do you play that make a use of PhysX?
What problems have you got with Catalysts?
How many reviews on GeForce 470 have you read so far?
What are the modern games in your opinion?
IMO you've never tried GeForce GTX 470 and you're complaining about nothing - your card is great but you think you could save some moneyz. It's annoying, it was your money and your decision after all.

In your profile page you state being 28 yo. Are you sure it's not 18? Answer a single question and we can have a debate whether a single review should justify your purchase or not...
Its not just that, I think ATI drivers are indeed poor as some people suspect.
The consensus is that the GTX470 competes with the 5850.From reviews, the 470 is indeed close to the 5870 in games it is beat, and beats the 5870 in other more modern games, such as dx11.
PhysX is a joke, it's used to little that there's no point in it. £50 cheaper indeed, but you get more RAM for your extra monies.Add to that physx and better driver support, and £50 cheaper.
Better drivers is again not true. People also need to put some effort in to learning the difference between "drivers" (INF files basically) and control panels. Again, PhysX is all well and good in theory, but it's not used by games devs enough for it to be a real feature, and that's because only nVidia support it with it being their own technology.Actually Im not complaing about the performance of the card. No, the performance is fantastic... I just think the gtx 470 is better value, close to the 5870, better with dx11 titles, better drivers, physx and around £50 cheaper.
The only thing the 5870 has up its sleeve is less heat and noise.
Ok, I get it, no need to rub it in!
Your threads are past ridiculous now though. I think it's clear you'd be unhappy with what ever card you got because you're still looking at reviews.
Now I suspect you're probably seeking out reviews and benchmarks biased towards a GTX470.
