When buying a ticket most bus drivers I meet wish you to depart their field of vision as fast as possible as they grunt in reply to you. They then proceed to drive as slow as possible, stopping at traffic lights the instant they turn amber and letting 50 cars pull out at junctions.
However on my recent trip to Amsterdam I managed to leave my wallet with all my ID's, credit cards and 300 euros on the bus to the airport. The driver who had initially seemed rude, not only found the wallet before anyone else but immediately phoned the bus company and the airport. He then took a large detour from his route once I'd made contact to come back to the airport and give it to me, 20 mins before my flight left. He told me he'd only opened the wallet to check the name and poked fun at me in a nice way for being so stupid enough to lose it.
So I just wanted to say that bus drivers aren't all that bad..... infact some are very good people indeed!!
